Baron Trump's Marvellous Underground Journey by Ingersoll Lockwood (1841 - 1918).

This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project: http://librivox.org/baron-trumps-marvellous-underground-journey-by-ingersoll-lockwood/
The Little Baron Trump is a man of adventure. He and his dog Bulger have already braved many adventures together, but at the time our story opens, they are kind of dull at home, upset with the increasing familiarity of both two- and four legged neighbours. What to do? Luckily, an old manuscript of the learned Spaniard, Don Constantino Bartolomeo Strepholofidgeguaneriusfum, falls into his hands, and off he goes to a journey to the centre of the earth.

This is a remarkable book from 1893, blending the tradition of the Münchhausen stories with more modern fantasy and science fiction. 1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/barontrumpsmarve00lock
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I have already recorded all the chapters of my claim, and now I'm just going thru the editing and my own proof-listening. I'm pretty sure I'll finish that up quickly.

So may I claim chapters 14 thru 24?

I discovered a booboo in the 4 files I uploaded. The title of the book in the intro is stated incorrectly.

I've made the corrections to each file and uploaded the new versions which are here:

Chapter 3 Time 9:18
https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/barontrump_03_lockwood_128kb.mp3

Chapter 4 Time 11:18
https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/barontrump_04_lockwood_128kb.mp3

Chapter 5 Time 9:52
https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/barontrump_05_lockwood_128kb.mp3

Chapter 6 Time 12:47
https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/barontrump_06_lockwood_128kb.mp3

Sorry about that.

Excellent reading of chapters 3-6! 3, 5, and 6 are PL ok. I have one note for you on chapter 4.

At about 1:31, you read the name of Ivan's home as "Hitch on the Hitch". This town is actually Ilitch on the Ilitch. It is easier to read in the chapter title of chapter 2, where it is in all caps: ILITCH ON THE ILITCH. Just this one correction, then this will also be PL ok. :)
