New Runtime: 00:04:48
Dale

You know- as I was uploading it originally, I wondered why it was a few seconds longer. I didn't think my pace was that far off.

Indeed! I never know if the conversion is 3 sea cucumbers per one-second of recording, or four.

Sea cucumbers are flexible. Some are long, some are short.

Good to have you back in the loop! Hope that all is well. We are following a hurricane down here, but Daleintexas is far enough north that he should be okay.

Yep- I am west of Fort Worth, 400 miles from Corpus Christi. We are catching the wraparound rain bands, which are providing us with some glorious August rains. However, our brethren along the coast, and especially Houston, are receiving rains of biblical proportions.

This is our first Cat4 hurricane, to hit that part of Texas, since 1961. I am uncertain which is worst- the devastating winds and surge that Corpus Christi to Matagorda Bay received, or the 6-8"/hour rainfall rates that are training over the Houston area. There are single-day reports of 24"+ rainfall totals, in that part of Texas. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. It is definitely catastrophic.

We are just now getting the edges of it, in squalls and thunderstorms. I don't think I'll be able to record today because the squalls are about 15 minutes apart. The really bad stuff seems to be west of us in the Lake Charles area right now. I was in Houston for Rita in 2005, but it was mostly wind and power outages.
