Thank you for the recording, I'm looking forward to listening! Cool, I've got you with your real name in the catalog now -- here is your page: https://librivox.org/reader/11879raisedbycats wrote:https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/wondergarden_96_olcott_128kb.mp3

Thanks, Kathrine!kathrinee wrote:TJ, you do a wonderful job in sections 28, 30 and 50 I wish my first recordings sounded equally smooth!
There are two things to fix in each recording (the same two things in each):
- the volume is a little bit high, around 92 dB. Please amplify by -3.
- at the end of the recording, after you say "End of section #. Recording by TJ Burns," there should be about 5 seconds of silence. All three recordings have closer to 2 seconds. You can select and copy the end silence, and paste it in at the end -- that should do the trick.
Save the recordings with the same file names, upload again and post in the thread. Thank you!
I will make the requested changes. I'm going to have to look up how to "amplify by -3," but I'm pretty sure I can swing it.
I will upload two more recordings. One of them (maybe both) probably has the same problem of being too loud, but I added the five seconds on the end. I had one problem with the first one -- I had to edit it because I had left out a few words and a word got swallowed up in my noise reduction edit, but I am traveling and don't have my good microphone with me. You can hear the change of microphone. I will be back home on September 4th and could edit it more professionally then.
But I'll upload them both now, so you can give me your feedback.
Thanks!
TJ

Section 62 (4:47):

Section 27 is PL OK The volume is perfect on this one. I did hear the change of microphone, but it sounds fine! Even with the same microphone, it is hard to make seamless edits when one has to re-record something. Great work!
Section 62 is also nicely read. Here the volume is a little high, so yes, please amplify by -3 or -4.
(In Audacity, this is how to amplify by -3:
Select the whole recording. Click Effect > Amplify and use the setting Amplification -3.)
Thank you, TJ!

Thanks Kathrine! Let's do another one. What about Section 131, the Winged Horse? It sounds like a wonderful story
Could I do Sections 54 and 56?
This is my first project.

Welcome That would be great! Sections 54 and 56 are all yours. What name would you like to go by in the LibriVox catalog? It can be your forum name, your real name, or pretty much anything else Please holler if your run into difficulties of any kind!AbbyJay wrote:Could I do Sections 54 and 56?

I have a question about Section 56 on page 143.
At the end of the little section it has a name "William Browne of Tavistock." Should I read this name?
