Title of work: Mem û Zîn, Chapter One
Hello Ozdefir :)

first I have to say that I don't know the Kurdish language at all. I learnt a few rudiments of Arabic and Persian, but I know this is not the same language, although I think I was able to hear out a few words that sounded familiar. Luckily you gave me the text in the Latin alphabet, so I was able to follow along.

You speak quite clearly, so that is a bonus too for listeners.

> All your technical specifications are ok apart from the volume, which is 93 dB, and that is a bit over our desired limit. We accept recordings between 86 to 92 dB, with a preferred average of 89 dB. So if you could decrease your volume by at least 2 dB, that would be totally perfect.

Other than that I only found one textual error:

> at 2:31-2:41: the following couplets have been read the wrong way around. Second couplet is placed before first couplet in your recording:
(1.) Evrenge felek hemî mu'ezzem
Evçende melek hemî mukerrem

(2.) Ev karegeha 'ezîm û dewwar
Ev baregeha bedî' û seyyar

this is easily corrected if you use Audacity. Simply highlight the first part, cut it out and paste it before the second.

The rest was fine, as far as I can judge.

Only other question: there was no indication that chapter 1 was ending in the text you gave as reference. :hmm: Do you have another reference where you see that the poem is divided into chapters ?

Anyway, thank you for offering me the insight into a language I was wholly unfamiliar with till now. It was interesting to listen to it, even if I didn't understand it. :)

and while I'm at it...finally I also PL a language which I am familiar of LOL

Alan, your German is really very good and you read slowly and precisely, which makes it clearer to understand, even if a word might not be pronounced entirely correct.

I would note two things which you could correct maybe:

> at 0:01: the title is "In der Fremde", you said "In die Fremde". In German, this changes the meaning a bit

> at 0:35: "da ruhe ich auch" - the only word which might be a bit difficult to understand because you mispronounced it is "auch", which is spoken like the Scottish "loch" sound. It's the same sound than in the word "ach" right in the line above, there you spoke it correctly. :)

All in all it is very well done. Kudos ! Your German may be a bit rusty, but it's definitely not dead and buried yet.

Hi Livia, I remember I already PLed some of your poems, so I tried listening to these as well. I do not speak Romanian but I followed the text and after a few minutes I got the gist of your spelling/pronunciation rules. So as far as I can tell, all three poems are PL ok.
No missing lines and I trust you as native speaker to have pronounced it all correctly

Beautifully read, even if I don't understand most of it, I understood some lines and the overall vibe of your voice made it very agreeable to listen to :9: Romanian is a beautiful language.

Sonia
Hi Sonia,
Thank you so much for PLed, and also for the appreciations shown above. :D
Romanian is my native language, and I try to read the texts correctly.

Thanks! :)

Well here are three languages finally that I do understand well, so I will PL those latest submissions...

first up: Beniamino with the French Eloge de Racine:
wonderfully narrated, Beniamino  I can really picture Racine standing before the Académie and giving this speech. No textual errors at all found, so this recording is absolutely PL ok. It was also a wonderful text, and a great choice for this collection. :9: Thanks

only thing: the file-name is not up to standard, it needs the "msw018" and your name initials. So either you reupload, or maybe it can be changed by the MC later on ? :hmm:

next the Italian letter by Rapisardi:
BeniaminoMassimo wrote:https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/msw018_letterafilippotommasomarinetti_rapisardi_bm_128kb.mp3
*Duration of recording - 02:58
*URL for online text - https://it.wikisource.org/wiki/Lettera_a_Filippo_Tommaso_Marinetti_(22_febbraio_1909)
*Title of work - Lettera a Filippo Tommaso Marinetti
ah this was a wonderful declamation ! But wow, can the Italians read fast  luckily the text was quite easy to understand or I might have had my problems with it. But I understood it all, as it was very clearly enunciated.

Also: no errors, so all perfectly PL ok. And this time the file-name is correct too ;)

and the last for now, another Eichendorff poem. My third to PL for today :9:

thanks Bernd, this one is again nicely read. :) I can hear you love this poet.

There is one tiny deviation from the text, but it does not change the meaning, so I think we can mark it PL ok as well. I just mention it, in case you want to be word-perfect:

> at 0:21: "Wache auf !" - you say "Wachet"

very trivial, it's up to you if you want to change it. :)

thanks
