OK this is an experiment (mtl3p's idea, implemented for In Flanders Fields):
Below is a poem, by William Blake. Let's see how many different versions we can get done this week. Multiple versions is the idea. Due Date: Sat, November 19.

Introduce with the regular LibriVox stuff, and add: "Read by [name], in [place], [date]."

mine's not great - but i'll get better. this one was too fast. but I wanted to have some feeling of drama.

i sent it to hugh - don't have anywhere to post it right now.

i was kind of intimidated by the poem - not having much of an idea what it was about. I did 15 min of research on it - and found that the experts are pretty confused by it as well - so that reassured me.

Heheh it is a strange poem, and difficult. I have no idea what it's about, either, and didn't even research it -- but I have a vague feeling that it's about religious faith versus, um, non-faith, or science, or something... I dunno, I just got that impression, so that's how I read it :) Wasn't Blake a mystic or something?

*shows impressive ignorance*

I'm going to choose something a bit more straightforward for next week's poem!

hello all. Just joined and have been listening to the weekly poem. Great fun, thanks to all! Kayray, please choose quickly as I can't wait to have a bash at the next poem. I think it would be a good start for me rather than just grabbing a chapter. Hopefully folk will like the "old tones" and that will boost my confidence for something a little bigger ...
