thank you brenda!

this is exactly the right way :)

two little things> please note the way we name our files, it is described in the first post of this thread (and each other project thread). the scheme is always the same: booktitle_##_author_128kb.mp3. so here it would be pasticheandprejudice_##_walkley_128kb.mp3. you neednt change this unless you get any other pl notes from jordan, but if there are any other edits that need doing, could you please upload the corrected file with the right file name?

also, how long is the file (mm:ss)? please remember to always post the duration of the file along with the link so that i can fill in the magic window :) thank you!

Hi Brenda,

Firstly, I should say these are well read.

However, there are some technical things that need changing.

As Carolin said, the file names are not right. The Silent Stage should be called pasticheandprejudice_40_walkley_128kb.mp3 and My Uncle Toby Puzzled should be called pasticheandprejudice_07_walkley_128kb.mp3

Also:

Section 40:

0:00: Your opening silence is a bit too long. It should be 'no more than 0.5 to 1 second', but you've got about 1.7.
0:01: You need to read the intro as it's written in the first post. People need to know which section number it is (and also it's not a short story...).
10:01: Your ending silence is a bit too long. It should be 5 seconds, but you've got about 6.7.

Section 7:

0:00: Your opening silence is a bit too long. It should be 'no more than 0.5 to 1 second', but you've got about 1.5.
1:28: 'about' (the first one) has been cut to just 'a'.
8:28: Your ending silence is too long. It should be 5 seconds, but you've got about 8.9.

Hi Brenda,

You seem to have got confused...

The file for My Uncle Toby Puzzled is the same as before, just quieter (i.e. none of the requested changes have been made), and the file for The Silent Stage does have the correct length opening silence, but has the same intro as before, and now has only half a second of silence at the end (and is also quieter)

As a result of the quieting, both are now a bit too quiet. They're at 85.5dB and 85.4 dB respectively, when they should be closer to 89 dB.

Oh, and while you have changed the file names, they're still not right.

And no, don't put the time in the file name.

Carolin:

Here is the link to section 21. Running length is 7:14.

Thank you for coordinating this fun and entertaining project and thanks to Jordan for his excellent PL. (And for enduring what can only be described graciously as my "tortured" French.

Well I am so sorry for all my confusion, I really appreciate your patience, I'll check my personal email from now on instead as I completely missed all your help till too late.......

at any rate here is a re recorded The Silent Stage - 9min 50 sec. I hope I'll get better at editing but thought I'd better do it over. I'll wait to hear before I redo the rest.

here goes:

Hi Brenda,

PL OK!

Though I should note that you did not need to re-record the whole thing, only the intro was wrong.
