Uncle Wiggily's Fortune by Howard Roger Garis (1873 - 1962).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/uncle-wiggilys-fortune-by-howard-r-garis/
Uncle Wiggily Longears is the main character of a series of children's stories by American author Howard R. Garis. He began writing the stories for the Newark News in 1910. Garis penned an Uncle Wiggily story every day (except Sundays) for more than 30 years, and published 79 books within the author's lifetime. -- Wikipedia

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

The chapter titles are in, and once I've finish editing Ch 2 of The Smoke Eaters (by tomorrow I hope), I'll put my toe in the water and get started with old Uncle W!

Moving right along, 8 & 9 are up.

I like alternating these two books, Ann; each offers an utterly different experience. (And reading challenge!)

Eleven down and "only" twenty to go. This is very formulaic, but the author certainly knew what he was doing. I suppose predictability is perfect for the little ones at bedtime. Uncle W may not have found his fortune, but Garis certainly did.

I can just imagine these stories being read at bedtime, the special treat to get everyone into bed when they are supposed to be there. Stories 10 and 11 are PL OK!
