I meant only my own files - as soon as my own files are PLed I move them then delete them after a few months when the project is complete. When I PL other projects, I delete those as soon as they are PLok.

But as for storage, yep, I have a great deal, both on my computer, as well as 6TB of external drives. I used to be addicted to downloading things, but I don't do that so much anymore.

Actually it is not that bad. I have a 32GB memory stick and store them all on there. I just checked and it is half full. These files don't take much room. After the server crash of 2016 I am very careful to try to keep as much as possible of my work. When a project is done I archive it as a zip file. So far I have used recovery only occasionally. Hopefully it stays that way! ;)

WOW! And here I was thinking Sonia would easily beat the rest of us in being done first. Thanks for your hard work, Jason! The MW has been updated, and unless Anthony says otherwise, it looks like you'll be getting a break until Part 2.

yes shame on me, I really could have beat you easily this time, guys. Believe it or not, I had all the poems read for about 2 weeks already, but I had so many DPL jobs, that I only edited a few of my own poems one at a time.

Now I'm still sitting on 2 final poems, where I have to re-record one line each, because of one error. And at the moment, I have no real quiet time to sit down and read that one line  Will try to do it this weekend.

no excuse, I know, but this is the explanation, why Jason has won first prize this time

No shame! You do so much more than I do here - I tried DPLing and it was kind of a chore for me to do it, while I really enjoy recording. I will do some PLing in the future, but I don't think I could dedicate so much of my time to it as you do!

Also, I edit my poems on the fly; whenever I make a mistake I stop and correct it immediately. For many people this breaks the flow of the read through I would think, and so editing after finishing the recording is easier (I tried that, but found it (for me) to be difficult to match my enthusiasm and voice and tone and conditions each time if I had to rerecord something later).

Being an actor, I am used to having to repeat lines over and over again and have them sound the same every time, or different every time, depending on how I am building the character. SO, while you may hear a seamless recording, there are some lines that I read over and over again, sometimes as many as 20! times (I ended up quitting that poem and doing others only to come back to it with a clear head and redoing the whole thing anyways).

I guess we all have our preferred ways of doing things, and I just wanted to share my experience :)

actually I have reached my limit also quite some time ago. I have taken on a bit too many DPL jobs, I'm afraid, and since I don't want to leave anybody waiting for feedback too long, my own recording have to take a backseat. :( I know I need to cut down on new DPL jobs, but there's always something interesting coming up.

oh I do it just the same way than you. Immediately when I notice a mistake, I re-read that part. You should hear my initial recordings LOL full of rubbish, stammering, bloopers, sentences spoken 10 times with occasional expletives in between  Sometimes my final recording is only half the length than what I was initially recording, because I spoke so many errors.

The two edits I still need to make in these remaining poems are errors I did not notice while I was recording and I only noticed them in the editing phase.

I so understand you...could have been me LOL

your narration for Winter is perfect and PL ok. I love the "bumbling old man's" voice you do here. :9:

and finally I had some quiet time to sit down and do those last two edits. Although my throat hurts and I am a bit raspier than usual, I think one doesn't hear it too much. (fingers crossed)
