I'm still hearing some very faint plosives, for example the 'p' in "palm trees" at 07:24.13. Not noticeable through my PC's speaker but I use headphones to PL and I can hear it there.

Section 8 is all yours.

If there are no issues with the recording, I'll go on to section 9.

Thank you very much for section 7. I am glad you like the book. Of course, section 9 is all yours.

I have only two items for your attention:
00:32 The pause before the chapter heading and the text is a bit long at 5 seconds (I think listeners get antsy when the pause is this long). I recommend you shorten it to 2 or 2.5 seconds.
19:52 Same comment. This pause is also over long.

OK, I haven't been sure how long those gaps should be; hadn't seen any guidelines on those. Shortened them each by 2.5 seconds. New recording length is 20:05.

There aren't any guidelines for gaps within a recording, just in the intro and outro. I go by what sounds right to me as I'm listening to the recording. For good or bad, I have a certain sense of pacing, and, in most recordings pauses much over two seconds stand out as anomalies because the pacing of the rest of the recording isn't that slow. Pauses over three seconds make me wonder if something has happened to my audio output. (except in the outro, of course, where it is supposed to be 5 seconds.)

Thank you! Only one problem with the recording: the volume is too low. The checker reports the volume as 82.4db and it should be between 86db and 92db.DJRickyV wrote:Section 8 is ready for PL.

OK, re-upped with a little more gain. Same link and duration.
If there's something in Audacity that can help me get the volume level beforehand, I'd appreciate some pointers. Google of audacity volume check didn't lead to anything I was familiar with and I've had the issue with some recordings in the past.
