Hello everyone! Do all the readings in this audiobook have to be short stories or can it include poems too?
Thanks!

Hi,

Just short stories, please!

Poetry should be submitted to the Short Poetry Collection, the current one which can be found here:

Thanks!

Hi denty28bc,

You did a great job! Great reading and expression, and absolutely nothing to fix! I didn't even here the 'plosive - and I purposely had the volume up high and was on the lookout for it! :D

I temporarily put denty28bc in as your catalog name, but if you would like me to change it, let me know. It can be your real name, pseudonym, or just keep it as your forum name. Whatever you would like!

Glad you had a good time, even if you did get annoyed. We are usually our own worst critics, especially when we first start recording!

Thanks!
Maria

Thank you and pleased that the story made it into the list for the project. Lol, I guess we are our own worst critics.

Hi JayKay,

Thank you! You did a nice job!

There are only a couple of minor things. The first is that there is 2 seconds of silence at the beginning, which is a bit long. If you could cut it down to about 1/2 a second, that would be great! Also, there is a loud click at the very beginning - I would make sure that is cut out when you are shortening the silence. :-)

The only other thing I would mention is that saying the illustrator in the intro and outro is not required. I won't ask you to fix it for this file as it is not a huge deal, but I would keep it in mind for the future. If you want to fix it, feel free, but it is not required!

If you could fix the silence and reupload that would be great!

Also, could you tell me what name you would like to use for your catalog page? Either your forum name, real name, or pseudonym are all acceptable options!

Thank you again and welcome to Librivox!
Maria

Hi Maria
Sorry for the delay . uploaded the link again with the edit to remove the pause in the beginning and the loud sound.
Left the illustration as is. will remember for the next.
Is there a preferred list of stories you can direct me to?

As for the name Either JK or JayKay is fine
Thanks much again

Hi JayKay,

Thank you ~ it is now PL OK!

As I had already temporarily added you as JayKay, we'll keep that for now, unless you change your mind! :-)

As for an approved list, there isn't one per say - as long as it is public domain we will accept it. Of course that is where the tricky part comes in. If you are ever unsure if something is PD, just ask! Mostly everything (but not all) from Project Gutenberg is PD.

In the first post it has this:
Where can I find short works for children?
Try http://www.gutenberg.org/
http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/loccs/pz
or any other place you can find some - but they must be Public Domain - many children's things on the internet are not.
The second link above goes directly to children's works. Not all are short story books, but it looks like there are quite a few in there if you would like to browse around!
