Non-Combatants and Others by Rose Macaulay (1881 - 1958).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/non-combatants-and-others-by-rose-macaulay/

Through a variety of experiences of the effects of the First World War, an art student is drawn into pacifism. Rose Macaulay's satirical novel is passionate, and witty ( Anthony Ogus)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/35807
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Your MW is ready for you! I did shorten your file name a little bit, just to make things a little bit easier for you. We will wait here a few days, just to see if we can pick up a DPL.

Ann/Dave

Preface complete and posted, but for some reason had problems uploading my mp3 file for Chapter 1 on the Magic Window. Unclear whether I have succeeded and whether you can listen to the recording. Please let me know.

Chapter 4. This mainly takes place in Stamford Hill, London. My aunt used to live only a few streets away.

4 PL OK.

It's always interesting to read how an author describes a place we intimately know.
