I have a fast computer but whenever I click on Librivox.org it takes a very long time to get in. It is the only website I have trouble with honestly. Even logging into Librivox with username and password takes forever it seems. It also takes a very long time to upload audio files and sometimes it times out and I have to try several times before it successfully submits. I go get a glass of water and it's still loading or is still in the process of submitting a file. Anyone know why this is? Is there a way to fix it? Does anyone else have this problem?

It's been happening the past two weeks. Maybe its because of how busy the site is? I don't know.

Librivox has been behaving the same way for me in the past week or two. Everything else is super fast, but the LV site (and uploader and MWs) is super slow.

Me too - we have asked someone to look into it, so hopefully we will get an answer and a fix soon, but finding out why is often not easy.

Glad I'm not the only one! The slow loading makes it very tedious to activate the new accounts.

The slow upload will also deter readers from looking up books from the website. I was looking for Frankenstein audiobook on the home page and it took a very long time to upload.

Even shifting between pages on the forum takes a long time for me. I had assumed it was a bandwidth problem on my home computer, but over the last week or so I've been checking my email and librivox on a computer at a public library, and the librivox connections are just as slow.

BTW, I'm connecting from the U.K.

Same here (Australia) and my internet at home is pretty slow in general, but LV is even slower. It's very annoying when an upload times out and I have to start all over again!

I'm confident everybody's is slow , and that it is a LV problem, and when our backroom volunteer folk work out why it will be fixed .

Seems to be fixed? Nice and snappy for me, anyway!

I agree; it seems okay from here, too.

Thanks,

The speed was better for a bit, but now it's back to being very slow.
