Hi. I just finished uploading Chapter 3 of the Flying Girl.
Here's the link:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/flyinggirl_03_baum_128kb.mp3

Time: 10:08

This is my first time, so I don't know how to get feedback. I guess you will let me know if the recording is OK.

Thanks,

Thank you so much. DOn't worry, our dpl would let you know. I hope you enjoyed it. Would you like to continue with chapter 5?

Well, if I need to fix something in Chapter 3, I would like to do that first. I do not know what a dpl is...is that the listener? I would like to know before starting another chapter.

Hello Marialouisa. Listener - yes, you guessed right. DPL is one of the abbreviations that appears here often. It stands for "dedicated proof-listener" - in this case, me. Here comes the verdict:

Chapter 3 - "The Kane Aircraft" - PL OK

(That is to say the file was uploaded with the filename exactly right, your recording was 128 k bits/second + 44,100 samples/second + mono, the overall volume for the chapter is in the proper range, the intro and outro text is correct, and you didn't, for example, back up and re-read a sentence or paragraph and then forget to edit out the flubbed version.)

When the rest of the chapters come in miss stav - Book Coordinator for The Flying Girl - will put out a call for cover art, gather everything together & prep it to head off into the LibriVox catalog.

Thanks for the chapter! Now, if you wish, accept that invitation to read chapter 5.

I found one small discrepancy; at 9:10 I heard:
---“Well, most people would, and I think it no crime."
The text:
---“Well, most people would, and think it no crime."
Not serious enough to need a fix. Chapter 4 - "Mr. Burthon is Confidential" - PL OK - thanks for the chapter, as well as your other 3 here.

Just one chapter left!

Spot PL OK
The new length - now 13:15 - has been noted in the magic window.

Marialuisa, two fixes are needed.

#1
Checker reports the average audio level for the chapter is 85.6 dB ... LibriVox specs say the level should be at least 86 dB (but not more than 92 dB). You can bring the level up a bit by bringing your chapter back into Audacity and using either the "Amplify" or "Compressor" effect -- being careful to not let the audio peaks clip.

#2
At the very end you said
End of chapter 3
That should be, of course,
End of chapter 5
(and be careful to be verrry quiet during your 5 seconds of silence after saying chapter 5 - in the current end of the chapter there are a couple clunks after you say 3 - perhaps you were reaching around to stop your recording??)

By the way, at 6:46...
I heard: I've placed your money in my bank,
the text: I have deposited your money in my bank,
... but this doesn't need a fix, as it doesn't change the meaning in the slightest.
