McClellan's Own Story by George Brinton McClellan (1826 - 1885).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/mcclellans-own-story-by-george-brinton-mcclellan/
Memoirs of General George Brinton McClellan, commanding general of the Army of the Potomac during the early years of the American Civil War. The work covers the time that McClellan commanded the Army of the Potomac, including the Peninsula Campaign, the Seven Days' Battles, and the Battle of Antietam. ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/mcclellansownst01primgoog
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

OK, Mike, your MW is ready for you, but I made one change for you and I have some homework for you to do.

I changed the link for the text. Google books tends to not be as accessible to the world as archive is. I changed your link to archive, same book, at Google Books, but accessible to all.

Because you are a new soloist, you need to access the workflow system for the first time. This document tells you how to access the workflow system, which is our Magic Window (MW), and how to change your password. Please do this right away because, as a soloist, you are the one who maintains your MW as your own Book Coordinator. Let me know when you have done this, or if you are having any problems.

I have also added a ~ to let people know that we need a DPL. We will wait here a few days to see if we can pick one up. If we don't, that fine, go ahead and record and upload your files. Sometimes DPL's will wait a little bit if you are new.

Thanks, Ann. I was able to change my password and enter the workflow system.

Looking forward to this solo project! I'll let you know if I have any questions!

An interesting man, whom history has judged to be worth less than his own opinion of himself. I'm glad you're taking this on!

Hi Mike,

I went ahead and pasted your links and times into the MW, but you can do that for the rest of them. Great job on the section titles! You're doing great!
