The Life Everlasting: A Reality of Romance by Marie Corelli (1855 - 1924).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/the-life-everlasting-a-reality-of-romance-by-marie-corelli/

Marie Corelli's book The Life Everlasting examines the world of past lives, mysticism, secret societies and twin souls against a backdrop of a true love based on the highest ideals. The plot follows our heroine from a yachting trip around Scotland with eccentric characters such as an atheist millionaire and his hypochondriac daughter, to the entering of a secret society of ancient mystics where she is determined to achieve initiation. Ms. Corelli's beautiful, flowing, and descriptive writing style make this novel a joy of upliftment and inspiration. ( Lisa Statler)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

OK all set up. Please note that I changed the text link to the main page for the book. This is the link we use for the catalog so that everyone can choose the format that works best for them.

Also I have suggested a shortened filename format. We commonly do this for long book titles.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'll leave the thread here in the LaunchPad to see if we get a DPL to volunteer before moving to Going Solo.

Hi Jo!
Thank you so much for setting everything up, I look forward to doing this book!

One note on something I may have done in error...I put there were 20 sections with a separate prologue...I guess that should have read 21 sections then, since there is the (very lone) prologue plus 20 chapters. Other than that mistake it all looks good! Will you be able to correct that for me?

Many thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

No problem. I'll add the extra section for you, but for future reference, you can add sections to the section compiler as BC. Just click on the Add Section button above the table, fill in the boxes and click add. It will be added to the bottom of the table and numbered accordingly by default.

Hi Lisa,

Do you need a DPL? If you need one and if you're not in a hurry, I'd be quite willing to listen to Corelli! The only thing is that I'll be online less frequently and a bit slow to PL for the rest of the month (and perhaps the very beginning of May). If that doesn't bother you, then that's great. If you'd prefer someone who'll be quicker, that's no problem at all - I'll listen when it's finished!

Erin, Thank You!
I would love to have you on board as the DPL, with no worries about how often you get online! This is my favorite Marie Corelli book, I know you will enjoy listening to it! Thank you again :D

I do have the first 3 chapters and a very long (over an hour) authors intro recorded, but have not had time to edit and post them yet. Hopefully this week I will be able to start uploading chapters. Please take your time.

Thanks!

Hurrah! I'm looking forward to this. I can't believe it wasn't snapped up earlier.

No rush for you, either. My own solo is taking me forever, but I keep reminding myself that it's still going to be the first version in the LV catalogue so there's no sense hurrying it. Corelli deserves the best!

Have a good week!

Erin, The Author's Prologue is up and ready for PL!

https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/lifeeverlasting_00_corelli_128kb.mp3 1:04 60:48kb

It came out to be 1:04, and I know we don't like to go over an hour, so Jo, if you think I should break it up I can. It is a detailed journey through her philosophy and I thought it felt better in one session.

Many thanks!

64 minutes fits on a CD so it's fine to keep it as a single file.

Hi Lisa,

The prologue is PL OK! It's a great start to the book, and it's also really good for listeners to have an explanation for so much of what went into her work. Have you read Free Opinions Freely Expressed by any chance?
