Last Known Survivor of the 19th Century Dies

Since so many of the public domain books and materials we read here at Librivox are from the 19th Century, I found this story to be quite interesting as well as sad (the end of an era).

Imagine - this lady was the very last person to be born in that century we interact with so much, and live into our own time. What a great life she had and how many interesting things she saw.

I figure centenarian George Burns will make a point of fronting up to the Pearly Gates, just so he can throw Emma some straight-line about longevity, to which she can respond: "Amateur!"
