it looks like i forgot that section 1 should have the full intro. could you use

"dedication of katydid's poems. this is a librivox recording. all librivox recordings are in the public domain. for more informaiton or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org. (recording by you). katydid's poems by kate slaughter mckinney. dedication." and at the end can you say "end of the letter to katydid".

I'd love to! :D Just one question: the letter is signed Jno. Aug. Williams. How should I say those abbreviated bits?

yes. i think it always sounds nicest to read the abbreviations out rather than as they are :) thank you!

5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 22, 28, 31, 36, 46, 47, 48, 51, 60, 61, 71, 75 and 78!
