The World's Desire by H. Rider Haggard (1856 - 1925) and others.

H. Rider Haggard (most noteable for King Solomon's Mines) and Andrew Lang (most noteable for the raimbow collored fairy books) collaborate to lend their tallent to one of the most fasonating and well known stories of all times. Odysseus returns home from the war, but does not find the peace and quiet which he craves. His home is ravaged, and his wife Penelope is dead. He comunicates with an old flaim, the beautiful Helen of Troy, who sends him to his oltimate and defining last jurny. Read about his adventures, and what might have been, in this beautiful novels by two of Britten's best victorian novelests. ( Stav Nisser and Wikipedia. )
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/2763
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

We'll just need to wait till Stav gets the MW set up - I'm not sure how she is setting up the sections.

Can you please assign me 'Book 1, Chapter 2: The Vision of the World's Desire'?

I'm new to this, but I've read the various rules and newbie guides on how to set-up my recording equipment and edit audio using Audacity.

I'm not sure whether you need to know this now (point 5), but could you please record my name as 'John C' in the LibriVox catalogue.

Hello JohnC,
welcome to Librivox. I hope you will enjoy here. Sure, chapter 2 is all yours. In addition, could you submit a one-minute sampal recording just to make sure that your tecnical settings are all correct? Could you tell us if you have a URL which you would like us to link to your name? Have fun,
Stav.

Thanks Stav!

Yes, I'll submit a test recording to make sure that everything is running smoothly.

I don't have a URL (website or blog) so there's no need for a link. Cheers.
