Kim,

Reading your comment above on how "Jan" is pronounced like a "Y", I have a name in a piece I am doing that is "Jalúhsa’s".

At least from what I could find on-line it seemed that in Swahili, Zulu and Afrikaners that the "J" is spoken with the "J" sound.

Is that incorrect? .... and should I be saying this with a "Y" instead?

I think what Kim meant in the poem I read, is the Dutch (or German) pronunciation of the name Jan, which is indeed Yan, I just did not think about it being Dutch. But if you're name is of African origin, it might well be pronounced differently.

Larry, if you don't mind, I think I will leave my English pronunciation of Jan in the poem though, because maybe I cannot get the tone of voice right again and then it's mmore disturbing that the name pronunciation.

Upload your test file using the LibriVox Uploader.
The username and password are:
username: librivox
password: upload2lv

(Note: this is case sensitive, and all the letters are lower case: the l = lower case L.

Before you upload, you must select the project MC's name from a list so your file will go to the right folder.
For test files, select "tests--tests" from the uploader's MC drop-down list.
If you do not select a folder in the drop-down menu, the upload will fail.

Copy the link it provides when the upload is complete, and post it in a new thread in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum. Please include the recording software (Audacity, Garage Band), operating system (Windows or Mac) and mic type (USB or Analog) you are using in the post as this will help us giving advice that is tailored to your problem.
Don't forget to post the link to your test in the forum - if you don't, no one will know that you have uploaded your test!
Be sure to get feedback. It may take a day or two for a response

Hello I am currently having trouble uploading my file-it's a windows media file. I'm not sure if they have specific limitations on the media type.
