Here is David, Part 2. I enjoyed this, much new and interesting information, especially about Judaic eschatology.

Thank you all! MW is updated. I know I'm behind on PLing. I haven't forgotten, just swamped this week. I'll get there as soon as I can.

Scarlett, section 21 is spot check PL OK. Thanks for the volume correction.

Jim, here are the notes for section 6.

12:18 repeat - At his death Absalom was childless, for all his children, his three sons and his daughter, died before him, as a punishment for his having set fire to a field of grain belonging to Joab.

29:46 – 30:46 Frist paragraph of The Family of David. While pronunciation is not part of standard PL you have pronounced Michal two different ways; Michael and Micha which is a little confusing. If you could make it consistent that would be great. If it matters it is generally pronounced mee-khal.

Michal was of entrancing beauty, (132) and at the same time the model of a loving wife. Not only did she save David out of the hands of her father, but also, when Saul, as her father and her king, commanded her to marry another man, she acquiesced only apparently. She entered into a mock marriage in order not to arouse the anger of Saul, who had annulled her union with David on grounds which he thought legal. Michal was good as well as beautiful; she showed such extraordinary kindness to the orphan children of her sister Merab that the Bible speaks of the five sons of Michal "whom she bore to Adriel." Adriel, however, was her brother-in-law and not her husband, but she had raised his children, treating them as though they were her own. (133) Michal was no less a model of piety.

“So Solomon summoned several eagles, and they stood guard over the body, shading it with their outstretched pinions.” Aww

Mark,
I know you use a recently established pronunciation site however Merriam-Webster has been the primary dictionary used in the US since 1828. It’s my “go to” source, so those are the links I have provided for you.

You did really well. For the most part the issue is with vowels. They are indeed confusing. Section 10 is standard PL OK so feel free to pick and choose or not address any at all. If you wanted to do a few I would recommend 1:06, 2:40, 3:22, 9:45, 22:25, and 27:32.

If you do decide to revise, please add _128kb to the end of the file name.

Pronunciation notes
0:32 The division of the kingdom into Judah and Israel, which took place soon after the death of Solomon, had cast its shadow before.

1:06 "Why dost thou reproach a prince of Israel? As thou livest, thou shalt have a taste of his rulership, and thou wilt see thou are not equal to its responsibilities."
Read as you which doesn’t change the intent but sounds strange for the text.

2:40 The prophet Ahijah, of the tribe of Levi, was venerable, not only by reason of his hoary age, his birth occurred at least sixty years before the exodus from Egypt,

8:04-8:16 – If it were me, I wouldn’t change this one the pronunciation is close enough I know where you are speaking of. Later in the text you read Ethiopian with the long e instead of the ah you use here.
Finally they decided to go to Egypt, but not to stay there, only to pass through to Ethiopia. The Egyptians were in great terror of the Danites, and their hardiest warriors occupied the roads travelled by them. Arrived in Ethiopia, the Danites slew a part of the population, and exacted tribute from the rest.

Scarlett,
One can’t help but enjoy this story. :D

16:14 editing error? - They were ignorant of the fact, that Mordecai was a member of the Sanhedrin, and as such knew all the seventy languages of the world

26:44 slight stumble - But Mordecai bluntly replied:

27:15 If he had divulged it, the betrayal would have been most painful to the latter.
Read as it divulged it

That is a REALLY big knee-cap!

If you don’t mind, on the next sections, please leave closer to 2 seconds instead of just 1 between the stories.

You are giving me too much credit, I don't even know what it is :-(
It will take a while to make the fixes, please bear with me! Thank you for your patience!

Mark, no problem at all but thank you for noticing the effort. That is very kind of you.

I thought you used howjsay or something like that. I know it's a popular site but I find it isn't as accurate.

No rush on the revision. We aren't even fully claimed yet. As always, let me know if you have any questions along the way.

Be well,
Linny
