I have entered it in the Magic Window and Jill will proof listen shortly. Just one thing more, we do need to know how long the recording is (in mm:ss).

Hi Lynne,
Chapter 10 recording is 07:49 minutes long when played on media player (file Properties > Details shows the length as 07:48).
Will this do or do I need to enter it somewhere?
Regards,
James

That's fine - only BCs, MCs and DPLs have access to the Magic Window, so I will add your timing to your entryJamesOinam wrote:Hi Lynne,

Great job on section 10, James! I just have two quick changes to the text and one note about volume.
Jill
Edited to add: I forgot to say, please also make sure that there are five seconds of silence at the end, you currently have only about 2-3 seconds. Thanks.
- At time 0:15 you skipped the second half of the introduction that should say "Lion Ben of Elm Island, by Elijah Kellogg" before you say "Chapter 10". Can you please add that in? (See first post for this project for more information.)
- At time 0:32 you said that the thirty-five men were in "military uniform" when it should be in "military order". Will you correct that? The change of this one word changes the setting of the whole chapter and might be confusing to listeners.
- The only other thing is that the volume of the file falls outside our normal range. We shoot for 89 dB for volume on our files but will accept anything 3 dBs on either side of that (86-92). Your file is 93.7 dB. Can you please decrease it a few dBs?
Jill

There are a few things to do before you get started.
You will need to complete a one minute test - this is to check your specs are up to Librivox standards, and if not, you'll be given hints on how to remedy that. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
Please post your test in the Listeners Wanted forum (see the dropdown at the bottom of the page) for the speediest response. Waiting for the OK may seem tedious, but can save time in the long run. Please be sure to complete this within 7 days.
I have added you to the catalog of readers. We can also link to a personal blog or website. If you click on your name in the Magic Window, you will see your own personal catalog page.
Be sure to read the first post - all the info you need is there, but if anything doesn't make sense, just ask. The wiki (see the top of the page) has bundles of info too.
