I just listened to file 1 - 128K version (at the new archive.org page), and it seemed OK. Now the files are gone and I can't get to any of them (Problem with archive.org?)

No, I deleted them all. It wasn't working for me. I'm working on it.

No not quite yet. One of the unfortunate things about doing this at work is that occasionally they actually expect me to WORK here... how rude! ;) I'll get to it now though. Another note when it's done

Okay, I deleted all the files off archive.org, downloaded Chip's original files onto my computer, and reuploaded the uncorrupted files to archive.org. I just listened to the 128s of Chapters 1 and 3 and they are fine now, no corruption. I've now started deriving the other files on archive.org. I'll try to listen to the other 128s soon to make sure they didn't get corrupted in the reupload but I don't know how long that will take me. When I get home from work I'll check on archive.org and once the files are all rederived I'll put the catalog page back up and hopefully, *crossing my fingers*, this project will be really truly complete and ready for public consumption!

Annie, I owe you one. Thank you SO MUCH for taking over. I think the corruption is happening during the the derivation process...

archive.org is not getting a Valentine from me this year.

Good luck!

No problem, Kara. :) Well, the files have derived and appear to be okay upon first glance. I listed through the 128 of chapter 1 and it is okay. The filesizes all are what they should be for the 64s and 128s. I downloaded all of the 64s using the zip file and the runtimes are all correct on those files.

So, the moral of the story is that I *think* everything is fixed now. I'll put the catalog page back up but hold off on putting this on the list to be seeded until we are sure everything is okay.

I thought AiYume already proof-listened to these? or are you going through it again?

I know the originals have been proof listened. The concern is that archive.org kept corrupting the files so that those were messed up, it is those that need to be proof listened to make sure they didn't get corrupted again.

This is the THIRD TIME.

*gnashes teeth*

archive.org corrupted them _twice_

at least, I'm assuming it's their fault until proven otherwise :)

Hey Chip, I made my 6 yr old daughter a CD (her CD player reads MP3s!) I started it off with your indian fairy tales (I downloaded the 64kbps zip, and it didn't seem to have the corruption problem). Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I love your reading. She is really loving it too.

I also have Kara's Little Princess and Road to Oz, along with Little Prince, Alice in Wonderland and Aesop v1. Wow, that should keep her busy for awhile. Treasure Island and whatever other kids books we finish will be on Disc 2!

Thanks again Librivox!
