Hi,

here is the link for Chapter 6:
https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/holidayhouse__06_sinclair_128kb.mp3
Length is 22:12.

I do have a question (for anyone with the answer). This is my second recording for Librivox and at times I am puzzled by my mic settings/volume. I have all settings as required but how can I check what my final recorded volume is in the mp3 files (I ask as an early attempt with Librivox ended up too loud meanwhile I thought the settings were correct). How can I check before submitting? Meanwhile, the PL can let me know for this one.

Thanks,
Rosalind

Rosalind,
The checker is a program designed specifically for LV. Many of us use it to verify our settings (including volume). viewtopic.php?f=21&t=36489
Phil made us a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkhk0megqHE&feature=youtu.be

Optionally, if you are just looking to check volume, MP3Gain is a very easy program: http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php/
Here is another video from Phil on this program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toef8_-qsms

I do a lot of proof listening, so I use the checker but when I used to read more and listen less I used MP3Gain and it served me just fine.

Hi Rosalind, Chapter 6 is PL OK. The volume level (according to Checker) for this file is 90.6 dB, with a noise level of 50 dB (a pass with Noise Reduction would not hurt  ) so you are good.
