Thanks Tricia - you are now in the database. Welcome to the kitchen :D

Niki - we do always ask the BC/soloist if they'd like the DPL - it is your project after all. :D I don't think anyone has ever said no , but I can see reasons why someone might want to - if say it was a very mathematical piece they might want someone who understands it to check they aren't talking rubbish, but I don't think there is any need to ask Tricia if she can cook :D

Okies. Like my writing, proofing it my outside ears is always beneficial. Being too close to a project after hearing it time, and time again. One is liable to miss something.

By the by,
Fixed the preface section. Had to take out that section, clean it up. all better now. I need to do the other the same way. audacity 2.1.2. is a much better animal than its predecessors.
May you be well, happy and peaceful.

Great!

Just for my info, did you re-record everything or just finesse the two little areas that needed finessing? This will determine if I just spot check the areas, or if I need to listen to everything again.

Just those spots. The rest of it sounded pretty good. So I didn't need to do anything else. I did check the rest of it though in case you needed any extra spot things. It didn't. Just those. I don't want to know what demon possessed my head said at that time, but it did nothing unless it is fixed. You do not have to list the whole bloody thing again. I would not torture you that way.
May you be well, happy and peaceful.

Spot checked, PL OK! The edits now blend in almost seamlessly - hard to tell they were patches. :)

Chapter 2:
0:04 - "The Chemistry of Cookery" - you said "The Chemistry of Cooking." ;)

I see chapter 3 is up. I don't have time to listen right now, but I did a VERY quick listen to the start to make sure the intro title was correct. It doesn't have the intro/disclaimer at all.

I'll do it anyway and I'll put it back in, I always have like a pile of it because, but you know it is just going to get squished together anyway and it's going to get edited out because it's a chapter and all the beginning of the book more than the book. But whatever tomorrow I'm going to do it tomorrow I'm not going to do it tonight. Because everything hurts and nope.

Chapter 2 PL OK!

Chapter 3:
0:07 - needs "This LibriVox recording is in the public domain."

16:56 - FYI, "1d per pound" would be "1 pence per pound". You don't have to change it, but just letting you know. :)

10 seconds of silence at the end; only needs 5. :)

You're doing well! It's just these little details of intro/ending that seem to be the sticking points.

See this is why I get confused, because the Wikipedia says if it's over 30 minutes it needs to be 10 seconds or more. And so I do that, and then I'm told that because it's less than whatever it is it should be 5 Seconds. Oh, I did fix it other thing about the intro and the guess it did not copy over, but the link up in the magic box is the newest link. For the redone chapter 3. But I'll do it again. I still don't understand why because it's all going to get squished together anyway and it's all done by one person. So like the Wikipedia and everybody else needs to get on the same page. And then you know if I do the 5 Seconds I told Abby Suite 10 seconds. You'll just need to make up your mind. I'm following the instructions on the Wikipedia. I have read that. It has become my narrated Bible. But I keep getting told that I'm doing it wrong. So I'm getting really confused. So I need someone to explain to me step by step what the heck I'm supposed to be doing. The ass P brain needs instructions. Clear-cut instructions. I do not like floundering. And I hate messing up. I hate failing. I hate trying to fail. So someone needs to like come up with a clear set of things and changed on the Wikipedia so other people know what it is and not just me. I cannot be the only one with Asperger's here. So yeah that's what I'm kind of annoyed by. I do what is told me on the Wikipedia and then I'm being told that I'm doing it wrong. So someone come up with that thing. Put it on the Wikipedia. Stop telling people they're doing it wrong when they're following the instructions on the manual site.
May you be well, happy and peaceful.

Did you determine the file was over 30 minutes before editing out mistakes? The copy I listened to was 22:26 (including the end silence). Sometimes that happens to me - I record the whole thing, and it is over 30 minutes, but when I finish editing out my coughs and repeats, it is less than 30 minutes. :)

Regarding having the intro on every recording: we do that because while all the files are in the same project, they don't all get merged together. They remain separate files, and those files could be distributed separately. So we put the intro on every file.

I hope this makes sense!

I don't mind catching little mistakes on files, if you don't mind correcting them. So you don't have to worry about making the files absolutely perfect the first time around, if it stresses you out too much. :)
