How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.
Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Edit: I forgot, there was someone who said she was interested in PL'ing this - let me just check with her and see if she still has the time

Yeah, those were funny Bible stories. First I heard of Goliath being a Muslim
Chapter 1 is re-uploaded along with Chapter 2. I forgot to say, let me know what you think of the footnotes. I'm not sure if even I like the way I've been handling them. There are so many, but they're so interesting, but they do interrupt the story . . . I think it would be easier if it were third-person narration, but with the story being told in Elaine's words it seems funny to have me constantly interrupting her. I wonder if I moved them all to the end of the chapter? That might get so long, though. I could probably leave a few out too, but it's hard to decide which ones.

Oh, and about the footnotes--how you did them sounds fine. I think it sounds best to put them in like the person speaking is giving an explanation. (Sort of like if you were talking to someone about something but a little kid was there. You would tell them what certain terms/words meant so that they wouldn't interrupt you. )

Finally done grad school and maybe actually able to record again
Chapter 2 is fixed as best as I could - the sentence is worded a bit funny and she seems to break off in the middle of saying something, but I think I was mumbling a bit which didn't help so I re-recorded that bit. See if it sounds a little better?
Chapter 3 is also uploaded. Random notes:
- I love Elaine! She's such a relate-able character even if she's kind of stupid sometimes
- I hate footnotes!
- Our title character is mentioned briefly for the first time, and it seems like we are finally going to do something other than sit at home and complain
