Hi every body! In this thread, you'll post a link to your first ever recording, (unaltered please) and in the same post, include a link to a recording of the exact same thing, but newly recorded. For example, say your first recording was a chapter from "A Christmas Carol". You would post a link to that recording. Then, you would that exact same chapter from that exact same book, (or part from a drama read, either way) and re record it. then, you upload that under XXnonproject, and post the link next to the original recording in the same post. That way, people can listen to how much you're reading has evolved since you started! (If your original recording longer then a minute and a half long then just recreate part of it)

Here you go. The Cow, by Robert Louis Stevenson:

From November 2005 (I'm not sure of the microphone, but probably a Yoga EM-278, which plugged into the soundboard)

From November 2016 (Blue Yeti USB microphone)

That's fine for something short like a child's poem - but really , to re read a book chapter seems a waste of readers time . Wouldn't it be better if people with some spare time , recorded a chapter from some languishing group project ? Let's keep the prime directive in mind :D

For the record the edit made was adding a suggestion to limit the size people record again, Doesn't change my opinion though :D . See below

I'm not saying they have to do it.... just a fun little thing for people who have the time. Maybe they're recording and have a little extra time so they decide to do this.

Aaron, perhaps would it be okay if I chose a recently recorded section I've done and post it here instead of re-recording my entire first section?

Ooh, fun! :D

Your sound qualities both seem to have improved, Peter and Joey. :) Not sure that I can say the same for mine... :hmm:

Although, I've since realized you don't need to read the whole disclaimer for every DR recording. (Whew! No complaints there!) I also don't say "LibriVox" like that anymore. :hmm:
