I had volunteered for two other sections (but which?). So I'll wait till all the other readers have checked in before asking for any more.

Beth,
0 and 1 are PL OK. I'm getting a 404 not found for 2 - could you upload that one again? Was this where the "_128kb" bit kicked in?

Letters 29 and 30 are PL OK! Letter writing back then was a bit different . . . very formal it would seem.

They were reporting to Lieutenant-Governor Latrobe so I guess they did their best to sound official.MaryAnnSpiegel wrote:...! Letter writing back then was a bit different . . . very formal it would seem.

The Victorians, like Anne and Elizabby, would know more (I'm from another state). The letters I've read so far were written by well-off "squatters" - pastoralists who settled themselves and their stock where they liked (as long as they didn't infringe on another squatter's boundaries) and paid mingy licenses for their "runs".
At the time the letters were written I'm guessing they were almost of historic interest because, a couple of years before, people with dangerous levelling notions began pouring into the brand new colony from all over the world and heading to its fabulous gold diggings.
Best,
Barbara
