I had you down for 29 and 30, and Kalynda as Sections 6-8 inclusive.

Thank Beth
I'd have been right about the 29, 30 but I couldn't remember who else had volunteered. Doesn't help I was away for most of the last 3 weeks.

Beth,
0 and 1 are PL OK. I'm getting a 404 not found for 2 - could you upload that one again? Was this where the "_128kb" bit kicked in?

Ooops. I have just uploaded a correction version of Section 29:
M:S is now 4:15.

I had forgotten to say in the introduction who the letter was from.

Best,

Letters 29 and 30 are PL OK! Letter writing back then was a bit different . . . very formal it would seem.

They were reporting to Lieutenant-Governor Latrobe so I guess they did their best to sound official.

The Victorians, like Anne and Elizabby, would know more (I'm from another state). The letters I've read so far were written by well-off "squatters" - pastoralists who settled themselves and their stock where they liked (as long as they didn't infringe on another squatter's boundaries) and paid mingy licenses for their "runs".

At the time the letters were written I'm guessing they were almost of historic interest because, a couple of years before, people with dangerous levelling notions began pouring into the brand new colony from all over the world and heading to its fabulous gold diggings.

Best,

Barbara
