Hi aishah143,

Dramatic readings in this subforum are books performed like a radio/dramatic play, so there's no individual claiming of chapters in this project.

We are just fixing some last minute roles and waiting for some parts to come in.

I have made sure the MW is up to date as well.

I have hesitantly assigned FreakWhency to all of the sections, hopefully they will all be finished!

If he has not uploaded/notified me by July 23, I will open up any not done or non-PL-OK sections of his and either reassign or split up the parts into two "actors" and have someone else finish. Everything should now be up to date - there are numerous sections that are now ready to be PLed.

I am ridiculously sorry, Tortilla. I am going to have to orphan Black Beauty. As much as I would love to, realistically I am not getting the free time that I should be and so I would not be able to finish this in any sort of timely fashion at all. It hasn't been fair for me on you or on anyone else to have kept it this long and it does pain me to leave like this. I am certain that you will find an amazing Black Beauty out there!

I was worried about making this commitment, but I slept on it and I think I really want to do it. Black Beauty is one of my favorite books and I would love to read the narration if you'd like to have me.

I was reading through the text and I noticed a couple of small errors in the line assignments. In the last paragraph of Chapter 4, the whole thing is assigned to Merrylegs, but the line I've put in bold below should be for the narrator:

"John does all he can to please her, and James does all he can, and our master never uses a whip if a horse acts right; so I think she might be good-tempered here. You see," he said, with a wise look, "I am twelve years old"

Also, at the end of Chapter 8, there's a big paragraph assigned to John Manley, but based on the punctuation, I believe it should be as follows:

John: "Ay, ay, Jim, 'tis 'the Birtwick balls',"
Narrator: said John,
John: "she'll be as good as Black Beauty by and by; kindness is all the physic she wants, poor thing!"
Narrator: Master noticed the change, too, and one day when he got out of the carriage and came to speak to us, as he often did, he stroked her beautiful neck.
Squire Gordon: "Well, my pretty one, well, how do things go with you now? You are a good bit happier than when you came to us, I think."

Hey everyone,
I'm sure most or all of you have heard about the server breakdown (see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62490 for more information). Basically, we lost everything since September 15th, which is right around the time that this project had a huge push. I've gone through the MW and done what I can, and I think it's mostly up to date, but please post here if something looks funny.

Files needing re-uploading:
- All of Ricky's parts.
- All of Arielle's Beauty files that were previously uploaded - I don't know the exact chapter numbers, but I think she was up to 30-something.
- All completed edited chapters - Adele, Arielle, and James, please look through your computers and see if you have any edited chapters to upload. Unfortunately I have no idea which ones were edited. I think all were PL OK with the exception of Chapter 1, which was missing the voice credits. (Maybe there's no need to re-upload that one, really, seeing as it isn't complete.)
- The part of the Man - that one is mine, and I'll upload it today.

I am now off to PM everyone in case they are not subscribed to this thread.
