This play contains the greatest line in dramatic history that I have ever recorded for Librivox. Try to guess it

I had to read it twice, almost certain that it couldn't be that in the text and that I was imagining it

As there are a lot of male parts in this play (inuendo intended) can I read the Chorus of Laconians.

I have seen a couple of student productions of this play in Oxford. It seems to make young women of a certain age to want to behave in provocative and "risque" ways on stage.

PL notes for Chorus of Women, scene 2. I noted down all the discrepancies I caught. You decide which ones you're going to fix.
0:44 should be "water pots", is "water PIPES"
0:49 should be "here I have it full at last", is "here I have it, AT FULL LAST"
1:38 should be "be their friend and ally", is "be THY friend and ally"
4:33 should "my good, gallant Lysistrata", is "my GOODNESS, gallant Lysistrata"
6:42 should be "very hailstorm of blows will set you yelling for help", is "very hailstorm of blows TO set you yelling for help"
7:36 should be "a fine, fat eel to wit", is "a fine, fat eel OF WITS"
The last line of scene 2 is around 7:50, but the audio goes on until 9:35. Some mix-up? (I haven't listened to scene 3 yet)

Sorry for the delay Alan. I have looked up the pronunciations as far as I could find them (wikipedia was helpful), here is the file:

Hi there and welcome!

Thanks for your file - in general it's a good idea to wait for the ok before recording since the Magic Window may not be up to date, but since this was such a tiny reading, let's say it was okay.

I have listened to your file very quickly, I like your reading, it is very spirited, very well done!
However, there are a few technical bits you'll have to iron out.

- your recording is in stereo, we need MONO
- your recording has a bit rate of 130 kbps, we need 128 kbps
and
- your recording is way too quiet, it comes in at 65.3 dB (mere pimples on the waveform) when it should be ideally 89 dB (+- 2)

I cannot check for background noise since the cicadas around here are already awake and drown out everything... But it is very likely that if you have any, it will be amplified if you just try to amplify your file. The way to do it is to increase your input to make your voice louder only (or mainly).

I don't know what program you are using to record, our standard one is audacity; here are a few tutorials on how to set the mono/bit rate things; and at the bottom is a basic manual on how to increase your volume on your computer:
