Thank you Erin, Craig and Tony for all your contributions. Special thanks to Dave for keeping things going. I'm afraid I have been hors de combat (or my computer has, at least).

ryfink: An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge will be just fine :). It's been recorded quite a few times, but don't let that put you off! The more versions the merrier!

Hi Ruth,
I did a recording of the story "A Really Nice Story" (1902) by W. Somerset Maugham (1874-1965). The text is taken from here: http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&d=HNS19020524.2.51&e=-------10--1----0--

Length: 17:24
Recording: https://librivox.org/uploads/ruthieg/shortstory064_realnicestory_lb_128kb.mp3

I noticed that I misnamed the file. It should be "reallynicestory". I am not sure if it is easy to change the file name, but I don't want to upload unnecessary file to the uploader either. :hmm: Do you prefer I re-upload it with the correct file name? Sorry about the mistake, please let me know which is the best way.

Thanks!

Thanks! I re-uploaded (this time with the correct title) the file. How is it now?

Hello!

I recorded the story "Rothschild's Fiddle" by Anton Chekhov (1860-1904). It was translated by Constance Garnett, and I took it from here: http://www.online-literature.com/anton_chekhov/1272/

Here is another contribution:

https://librivox.org/uploads/ruthieg/shortstory064_milliondollars_lt_128kb.mp3

Strange Adventures of a Million Dollars
Ingersoll Lockwood (1798-1855)
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/32117

As Ruthie still appears to be absent, I have added it to the MW.

Thanks, Lynne!

I'm subscribed to this thread, so when it wraps up, I can catalog it. :)

I'm hoping that this passes muster and the collection can be catalogued. It's another of Schreiner's allegories:

'Life's Gifts' by Olive Schreiner (1855-1920)
Text: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1439
Duration: 1.22
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/ruthieg/shortstory064_lifesgifts_el_128kb.mp3
