[complete] The Hero by W. Somerset Maugham - ke
Hi Lilith,
A few small things:
At 02:54 I hear "somber" for "sober"
At 11:25 I hear "glided" for "gilded" (should rhyme with build)
At 17:09 I hear "loped" with a long "o" for "lopped" (should rhyme with topped)
It's 112 F here today. Thanks for a cooling draught of Maugham!
Pam

Hi Pam,
Thanks! I redid the sections. Let's see if they're better?
Wow, we're at 84 today and it was so hot already! Now it's a bit cooler at night.
Take good care!

Hi Lilith,
Section 16 is PL OK!
My best,
Pam
What are you going to do next (PM me)?

Lilith,
Ah, lovely!
Chapter 17 is PL OK.
And there's Half Moon Street, like in the letters. Have you read Paul Theroux's book of the same name? (A pretty dark work, actually).

Hi Pam,
Thanks!
No, I haven't read Theroux's book. I'm going to now. There's a little odd movie with the same name, with Michael Caine and Sigourney Weaver.
Half Moon Street is an amazing street (besides its name), very near to Jermyn Street. You can hardly believe you are in Piccadilly.
Thanks!

Lilith,
I don't know it I am recommending the book. It's about a graduate student who falls into prostitution. But the movie--how could it be bad with those two?

I vaguely remember seeing it. At least I remember Sigourney Weaver in it.
