Yeah, now I'm feeling sorry for her again because she is so clueless.

Hi Lilith,

Lovely reading, as usual, and letter perfect. It was very moving.

Couple of suggestions:

I would apply some notice reduction. Here is how I suggest you do it. Go to the blank space in your recording between about 08:3 and 09:9 seconds and highlight it. Then go to Effect and click on Noise Reduction.

I suggest the following settings: Noise Reduction dB 12
Sensitivity 6.00
Frequency Smoothing (bands) 0
Noise; Reduce
Then click on Get Noise Profile

Next, highlight the entire recording by going to the beginning and clicking on the grey area next to 32-bit float and above Solo. Then click on effect. Click on Noise Reduction. Click on OK. The process takes about a minute. Then save the file.

I actually to this kind of mild noise reduction on all of my files to get rid of background hiss.

You are also a bit loud at 90 db in Checker. If you wish, and can highlight the entire recording and Click on Amplify. Then in the Amplification box you can type in -1.0 which will bring you to exactly 89.0 dB, the optimal level. However, 90 is also OK, so this last step is up to you.

I think you are really good at reading and voice acting. It is a pleasure to listen to every file!

My best,

Pam

Thanks Pam!
I am still working on getting the right adjustment. I have been using MP3 Gain, but at times it doesn't seem to get to the right sound level. Thanks for all the specifications! They are very helpful!

Hi Lilith,

Section 11 is PL OK. Broad satire--farce even with Mary's mother on her knees.

Volume is spot on.

Haha, the faded beauty. I can see Maugham the dramatist already in the dialogues.
