Completed! All audio files can be found on our catalog page:

I'm enjoying my chapters of Pride and Prejudice so much that I'd like to volunteer for Emma. My goal is to have it finished before January 7, 2006.

Sherry -- Emma is probably my very favorite 19th century novel. I am really looking forward to hearing your recording!

Have fun!

OK - I promise to listen to this.

Emma was my first dive into the 'classics', when I was an early teen, and I hated it! It's taken me all these years to get around to trying another Austen (Pride and Prejudice), only to find that I enjoyed it just as much as I remember not enjoying Emma.

So... if you read it, I, at least, will listen :)

Just wanted to give an update. I am just over halfway through the book and I am really enjoying it!

However, I had forgotten just how long the book actually is. I would like to continue this as a solo project until the end of February. If I haven't finished it by then, I'd like to open it up to other volunteers.

Cheers,
Sherry

good luck sherry, it seems austen's pretty popular, so if you need to open it up to others, you're sure to have enthusiastic help.

Oh Yes. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes :) It's hard to pick my favorite Austen novel, but this is probably it.

Hi Kara - I've just finished recording the last chapter of volume 3. I have about six chapters to edit. Would you like me to send you volumes 1 and 2 first or wait? What is the best way to do this? Maybe I can set up a temporary ftp site somewhere. Please let me know. Thanks!

Sherry! That is SO awesome! Let me know when you're completely finished with the book, and I'll make a spot for you to upload it straight into our Validator.

If you want proof listeners, the best thing to do would probably be to send the files to yourself via yousendit.com, then post the resulting links in the "Listeners Wanted" section. I can explain further if I've confused you -- let me know :)

Or, if you know how to use ftp, we can ask Kri to make a temporary home for your files on her server -- she's been sweet about offering that for our readers. Then you could link to the files there for your Proof Listeners.

I can hardly wait to hear Emma!

Hello - I'm finished! The final editing took longer than I thought, but alas, all 55 chapters are done. Where should I upload them? Should I use FTP?

Thanks!

You can use yousendit, or PM me and I'll send you the details for an FTP account I have set up.

Hooray! If you know how to use FTP, it will definitely be easiest for you to use Kri's holding pen. Let me know how it goes and where your files end up, and I'll get started cataloging them. If you use Kri's holding pen, we can easily link to the files for Proof Listening.
