Here's section 2:) Sorry for all the breaks, I have a slight cold, so my throat gets dry really easy. I've done a noiseclean and edited the intro.

PL Notes Section 2

I am loving the sound of this!
A few items:
Lyons, like sous, has a silent 's'. No problem, I lopped it off.

2:57 with her pale eyes fixed on the monster, I hear pale face.
3:15 looking at the handsome young saleswomen (plural) in the dress department opposite, I hear saleswoman (singular), suggesting he might have a love interest other then Genevieve, and I hear "departed" for department.
4:27 miserly ways, I hear miz-zur-ly (not a word). Needs a long i (my'-zer-ly)
7:57 dis-heartened, I hear dis-en-harted.
22:20 liveries, pronounced li'-ver-ees (short i).

25:44-50 "come come we must make room for the others, enough of this useless talk." lots of booms in a row.
30:17 how stupid he is, is garbled.

Did you mean a chapter a week, or a section a week? One section a week, at 34 sections, is 8.5 months, so I am hoping that with me doing the editing, we will go a bit faster than that. But if not, hey, that's okay too.

Obs, that was the plan before, forgot that:P Seeing as some chapters are more than two sections, I think I'm gonna aim for two sections a week.

Sections 2 and 3 are PL OK and uploaded in final form, with adjusted times.

I am wondering if, since Kristin is recording and I am doing extensive editing, then she re-edits and I re-check, we should invite someone in as DPL to do a final PL with fresh eyes (as in the dramatic productions)? By the time we get finished swapping files all with different names, I could easily upload the wrong "final" version. I did that with Section 2 today, then caught it.

What do ya'll think?

Hi, Elizabethy, and welcome to the project. This one will take awhile, and you will only need to DPL when the file makes it into the MW.

I did a listen over the three first sections, and needed to make a few changes, just with pronounciations and such, so here they are again. Maybe we could set them for PL, so could Elisabeth check them out as well? (And I don't have access to the mw...)

Section 1 - 29:46 - https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/ladiesparadise_01_zola_128kb.mp3
Section 2 - 31:21 - https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/ladiesparadise_02_zola_128kb.mp3
Section 3 - 34:06 - https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/ladiesparadise_03_zola_128kb.mp3

Haven't formally heard from Elizabethy yet, but Phil will set her as DPL as soon as we do. I've set 1, 2, and 3 in the MW as Ready for PL by her.

I think we've finally worked out our process. Let me know if you agree:

1. You record a raw file marked 'raw', upload and post notice here or send to me via PM (either is fine).
2. I edit the raw file and mark it 'edited-mtf', upload and send you that along with my PL Notes here or via PM (either is fine by me).
3. You listen and correct to your personal taste, and upload again as an 'edited-kgj' file.
4. I spot PL that, then upload as the true file name and put in the MW for final PL by Elizabethy.

At least, that's what we've done so far. Eventually we might be able to eliminate one step, like this:
3. You listen and correct to your personal taste, and upload again as the true file name.
4. I put this in the MW for final PL by Elizabethy.

I don't mind one bit going the extra step, but I'll leave that up to you.
