Rats, had Chapter 8 recorded and three-quarters edited, then mysteriously the last page and a half disappeared from the original recording -- probably a botched cut and paste job. Will get on it! Thanks.

Oh how annoying! I hate it when that happens!

Something you could do to prevent these things in the future: When you are finished recording, save the project normally as an audacity .aup project and then export it to .flac as a backup. You can work on the .aup for your editing, but if something goes wrong between your recording and the PL OK, you have the raw file handy.

Note that flacs - a lossless format - take up much more space than mp3, but less than audacity files.
