Hello JaciB! Welcome to Lbrivox. Before you being signing up for sections, I strongly recommend looking into doing a one-minute test to make sure your audio aspects are correct. What would you like your display name to be?

JWWarr, I have signed you up for your sections.

Guess I'm a little too excited...sorry about that. I'm waiting on my microphone to arrive; that should happen later this week. In the meantime I'm working on getting set up with Audacity as I haven't used it before.

Display name: Jacquelyn Bengfort

Thanks--

Since the sections aren't long, I'll sign you up for them, but please do try a one minute test before starting these! it isn't required, but it is encouraged. :)

Book now full!

Thank you for recording these

There are, however, a variety of issues with each of them.

1) All of them lack the required 5 seconds of silence at the end. They have one second less, except section 28 which is close with about 4 seconds. The beginning silence in Section 29 is a tad long at 1.5 seconds - target is less than one second.

2) Several sections are too low in volume. The LibriVox target is 89 dB with a range of 86-92 db.

Here are the volumes as measured in Checker:
25 - 85.6
26 - 86.0
27 - 88.4
28 - 87.7
29 - 85.8

So, definitely Sections 25 and 29 need about 3 dB amplification, but 26 could use it too, as it is right on the borderline.

Since you will be editing these, here are some additional notes:

26 - loud click right after the poem and before the "outro."
27 - click and loud background noise at the beginning. Loud click at 0:51
28 - loud clicks at 3:36 and 3:38 (sounds like a rough edit)
29 - loud click at 3:20, soft click at 3:58

I think all of these things are fairly easy to take care of with some editing, so no need to record anything again.

If you have questions about any of these, just let me know. Always glad to help.

Just upload the files under their original names, then post a note here with the new file lengths.

All the best,
On the road again, so delays are possible
