COMPLETE Witch of Edmonton by Dekker, et al. -rap
Mary, if the Mother Sawyer files are all OK now, can you please change it in the top box as well? If you don't, it keeps coming up on my reader page as something I need to do.

Hi there,
Here is the dog. I regretted the voice almost instantly. Ouch!

I'm glad I saw this before all the best parts were gone. I have a Thomas Dekker website, and I have the compete text of this play on it (but I'll use the text you indicate, of course).
I see my number one choice is already gone (the Dog), and as I'm 51 my voice is probably too old for Frank, so I'll take Sir Arthur Clarington, if that's okay.

Hello! Newly graduated and occasional Librivox contributor.
At the risk of self-promoting, here is the Dekker webpage I mentioned. Actually a wordpress site. https://bradfilippone.wordpress.com/
I still have a few plays to go, but you can see I have The Witch of Edmonton partway down the page.

Hi I am back from the holidays again and had time now to listen to some recordings.
I finished Winnifred’s parts. I cannot check the dB with Checker at the moment, but to me it sounded loud enough. I can check them at home later on and let you know, if you wish.
Acts 1.1., 4.1. and 5.2. are all PL ok
> the intro is missing in Acts 3, 4 and 5, but I guess it’s not important in dramatic reading as it will be cut out anyway.
Found two tiny mistakes in Act 3.2.
> at 0:37: after "who coming, your wife" I hear a thump, but it’s right after the sentence, so if the editor cuts it immediately off, the thump won’t be heard.
> at 1:22-1:26: "were it then by to buy" there’s a stumble and the phrase is repeated again
Now on to the Dog’s recordings…

Hi I just quickly wanted to Spot Check the correction in your file and noticed that this is not the original text at all. I was creeped out when I heard a young kid's voice instead of Mother Sawyer which I was expecting to hear.Elizabby wrote:This one change has been made and the new file uploaded to the same link, but here it is again anyway:

I hope your original file has not been lost somewhere, because this is definitely a different text and a different reader.

Finished proof-listening the Dog’s parts…
I simply loved the dog’s voice, reminded me of Michael Wincott's scratchy performances. But I pity your vocal chords, they must have hurt after that feat.
Acts 3.3. and 4.1. were PL ok
Some tiny errors in the other acts, not sure they all need to be corrected, but I wanted to point them out anyway.
Act 2.1.
> at 0:40: original text: “I have found”, you say: “But I have found”. Probably doesn’t need to be corrected as it sounds much more melodious the way you say it. But I wanted to mention every difference from the original text, then you can decide which ones need to be corrected.
> at 2:35: did you record your laughter twice or did you mean the laughter to be ongoing so long ?
Act 3.1.
I immensely enjoyed your barking at the beginning.
> at 0:26: you do one laughter, and then start the text immediately, but there is another laughter before that. Unless your first laughter is supposed to be a sort of barking-laughter…
> at 1:56: original text: “Those that are joys denied”. I listened closely again and again and always hear you say “Those are the joys denied” but I could be mistaken as I cannot hear this part very clearly.
Act 5.1.
> at 3:57: original text: “but that thy oaths”, I hear “but that by oaths” but I might be mistaken here as well
> at 6:04: original text: “There I’ll shug in”, you say: “shrug in”. I didn’t even know the verb ‘to shug in’ existed and checked it in wictionary to see if it was not a spelling mistake LOL

Hi Sonia,
I have re-uploaded:
2.1 - Fixed line. Edit the laughing as you please - I was probably just giving you an option.
3.1 - I can't remember what I was going for here with the laughs/barks, but it's possible I was thinking of giving you options of which sounds to include. Fixed the "joys denied" line.
5.1 - Fixed both

I am amazed how well you edit out stuff, so that one doesn't hear a bit where the errors have been before. No clicks, no change of tone in the voice, nothing....I still need to learn a lot before I can handle Audacity that well.

Thanks, Sonia. I use Adobe Audition - makes it a bit easier to zoom in and find the right place to cut. Possibly not worth forking out for CC unless you do a lot of video stuff as well, though!Kitty wrote:

Hello there! I love this play and I'd be glad to read Frank Thorney if he's available!
