The introduction is PL OK :D I think it sounds good, don't really have any suggestions for improvements. If you want others to listen I guess you can post in the "listeners wanted" forum, or the "need help" one.

smijen wrote: More important issue: your settings must have accidentally gotten changed, as your sampling rate from chapter 4 onward is 48,000Hz (should be 44,100Hz). If you still have the .wav or .aup, I think you can just change the setting back, then re-export them all as mp3's.
I'm sorry, I should probably have noticed this.
I'll wait with marking section 6 pl ok till the right files are in the MW. :)

Oh, bother, that comes from someone asking for "as good quality as you can manage" for a voice for a computer game, and me forgetting to reset the settings. I will convert the uncompressed files to MP3 at the correct rate, but they might therefore (since they were recorded at the higher rate) benefit from a quick listen to check this does not introduce problems.

Uploaded modified files, I took the original file (at 9600) and reduced the project rate in Audacity to 44100 and then exported as MP3 as usual. I took the opportunity to make the compression similar on one or two that had larger variability.

Hi again!

I just uploaded the files currently in the MW, checked the tech specs and listened here and there to all the parts. It seems that these are not the new, modified files, because section 0, 4, 5, and 6 still are at 48.000 Hz, and section 6 have volume at 85.7 (I think the modification you made was a bit higher than that). Could you please check that the file names are the same as the links in the MW? :)

Maybe somehow just changing the project rate before exporting as MP3 did not do it, I have done them again this time exporting the project to FLAC at the new rate then opening that and exporting as MP3, hope that has done it :)

Thanks :)

And thank you both for all the help with logins and things! As well as coping with funny sample rates etc. I am glad to have it finished as Barbara is on sabbatical and we head away soon for two months teaching in the Philippines and Sri Lanka , with a few days visiting friends in Thailand in between and there could have been a rather long gap!

Are you happy with the catalog description? (It still says draft.)

I left the "draft" comment because although I think it is the best I can do now I wondered if either of you might have suggestions for improving it... if not I am happy with it, I even caught another typo this morning while checking the contents.

The writing itself is fine IMHO. It is quite a bit longer than our usual descriptions, but there's no absolute max for the word count, so I can use it as-is if you like.

Hmm. Might there be difficulty fitting it on the CD case thing people sometimes do? Or another reason to shorten it? If so do you know how much would be desirable?
