The Bobbsey Twins at Snow Lodge by Laura Lee Hope ( - ).
This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/the-bobbsey-twins-at-snow-lodge-by-laura-lee-hope/
The Bobbsey Twins are back at school after summer vacation, but Danny Rugg, the school bully, is up to mischief again--and this time he's trying to pin it onto Bert. Bert gets accused of freezing a giant snowball to the school steps, and all the evidence seems to point against him. Christmas is coming too, and the Bobbsey Twins are busy planning for their trip to Snow Lodge--where a lost treasure, a restored friendship, and exciting adventures await. (Summary by Adele de Pignerolles)

This is the fifth book in the original Bobbsey Twins series, published by the Stratemyer Syndicate under the house pseudonym of Laura Lee Hope.
  • Volunteers outside the USA: This book was published under the house pseudonym of Laura Lee Hope, but the real author is thought to be Howard R. Garis (1873 – 1962). Since he died in 1962, it may still be protected by copyright in places like Europe (copyright term is author's death plus 70 years) and Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1955).

    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/6055
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I would like to read sections 1 through 22. So, the whole thing really. I'm cool with just being listed as my username as the reader.

Hi Tybalt! Welcome to Librivox! :D
Before your first recording we ask that you send in a 1-minute test. This is NOT an audition, it's just to make sure the sound quality and the recording settings are all right - we wouldn't want someone to record a 30 minute section only to find that their tech specs were all wrong and they would have to record the whole thing over again :? . The link to the instructions is here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test. After your test is OK'ed, you can come back here and record! :D

Another thing - before taking on a solo, we recommend that you do a few chapters in a group project first, just to make sure you know what you're getting into. Recording a book is a more than just sitting down and reading. So how about you get your one minute test OK'ed, and then come back here and pick out a few chapters. Once you've recorded a chapter, I'll feel more comfortable about giving you all the rest if you still want to do that :) Or if you like you could read a few chapters here and then solo another book in the series.

We're glad you're here, and just ask if you have any questions! If I can't answer them there are lots of other people who can! :D

I would like to read Sections 1 and 2.

Name to use is BettyB
This is my first Librivox recording but I have been recording textbooks for another organization for many years. Have received OK on my one minute test.

Thanks!

I have uploaded the first session for the above book. This is my first ever submission. Have triple-checked and hope that everything is satisfactory.
Please let me know if corrections need to be made. Using Audacity. Thanks. Betty B.

Thank you Betty! :D Our proof listener, Adele, will get back to you soon and let you know if any edits need to be made. For the future, please make sure the file name follows the first post (in this case it would be bobbseytwinsatsnowlodge_01_hope_128kb.mp3). Also, how long is the recording? We need this to make sure the whole file uploaded correctly :D

Thanks again! :D It can be tricky to figure out everything at first, but you'll have it all down in no time!

Sorry about the wrong file name. There are quite a few things to remember-- technically speaking. :) Would you like me to upload it again with correct file name?

length of recording is 15:23:59.

It's okay :)
You can leave the file name this time. Adele will listen to the recording, and if there's anything you need to fix you can use the proper file name when you re-upload. If not we'll figure out what to do - either our MC, Anne, will fix the file name in the uploader, or you'll fix it and upload it :)

Thank you!
Rachel
