Thanks Michele, but... are you sure you read the right thing / uploaded the final file? Just checking the word count, it should not be much longer than half an hour, and with more than 45 I'm a bit concerned?

Section 5 is yours, thanks Mary Ann!

Yes, I'm sure! 7,487 words, that's about 45 minutes + for me.

In the MW:
First Part, chapter II, part I: The Exploration and Colonization of Africa, 1

What I read:
CHAPTER II.
THE EXPLORATION AND COLONIZATION OF AFRICA.

I.

Is there still confusion on Section 8? It's been over a week and I'd like to know if I've done the right thing. :?

Michele, it seems that you have read both sections 8 and 9 together in a single section instead of in two as indicated in the MW. That's why you get to 7000 words when there are 2x 3000....

Could you please split your recording in half just before
"The enemies of the Pacha of Bornou and the Sultan of Mandara, were called Fellatahs. Their vast settlements extended far beyond Timbuctoo..." and put in the outro for section 8 and the intro for section 9? The break should be somewhere around 25 minutes.

Thank you!
Cheers, Ava.

WHEE! Do you mean I've already recorded Section 9?????? Awesome. I don't recall seeing a "link to text" in the MW before, and I'm sure I read from the Gutenberg website, where Chapter II is divided into Part I and Part II, then in your division, Part I is divided again into 2 parts, hence my confusion.

Anyway, here are Sections 8 and 9, hopefully properly Intro'd and Outro'd. If further change is needed, just let me know.

Then I really hope you read the correct parts of the text for the rest of the chapter

Entering your new sections into the MW. Isn't it nice when they multiply so easily...

I'll restrain myself and ask for just one section for now -- Section 30
Nice to have the docs all set up.
On the road again, so delays are possible

Hi there and welcome to Librivox! :D

Before I'll give that section to you, please do our one-minute test. This is not an audition for you, but for your setup (volume, background noise, technical bits) so we can make sure that you have the best possible setup for your real recordings. Have a look at your welcome email, it contains all the information you'll need for your one-minute test!

Besides that, I'll need a name with which to enter you into our catalog. This can be your forum name, your real name, another pseudonym, it does not really matter. It would be wise however, if you say a name in your recordings, to choose this one as your catalog name so that people who listen to you can find you. Oh, we can also link to a personal webpage, blog or such if you like.

That's it for now, have fun on here!
Cheers, Ava.
