Hiya,
not knowing exactly what Phil has included in his video (though they are always very helpful - his videos were like my go-to guide when i first started with LV...big thanks Phil!!! ) but i would say that perhaps moving the mic further from your mouth may help to reduce some of the noises that you would likely have had to edit out

section 19 is PL okay - there are a few small 'plosives but nothing that I felt detracted from the words or flow of the section
well done for your first section  and good luck for the future ones to come

thanks

Thanks Sam!! And yes I agree, Phil's video's are AMAZING. I'll try and get my future recordings clearer....somehow. Perhaps I need to buy a better mic. Thanks again for PL'ing.

I really like the quote you have :)

Anyway, we do need to talk about increasing your volume going INTO Audacity. http://youtu.be/wsV6xdTfxcw

You are using a headphone/mic, right? It looks like there is some notch filter built in. you will see from the video.

Hey Phil! Sorry for my such late reply. I really appreciate you creating this video, I still haven't been able to reduce my background noise much or increase my mic. volume before recording, but seems like the video you made is private. Not sure how I can view it?

The other one you posted I have already used and it was helpful in knowing what my recording waves should look like. I think the biggest problem at the moment is the noise - because even after using the noise removal in audacity several times it still isn't crisp clear sounding. Perhaps I should invest in a better mic/headset? (yes, I am using a mic/headset right now) I've been trying to record a poem I signed up for but it just doesn't sound right...so at the moment not to sure what else I can do. :hmm:

Thanks again for your help! AND - happy extremly belated

Still can't seem to view your video on my end. No rush or anything, I'll just sit here on cloud 9 and wait. :9: Haha, was wondering when I could use that one, but really I've got a lot going on this week so no rush....whenever you have the time - to help me again. Should I start a score board perhaps?

Chapter 14 PL OK!

Nice reading Asta1234. I did notice some 'plosives, where your breath hit t he microphone directly and cause a bit of distortion. i would suggest moving the mic a bit to one side. But is was still a very nice reading. Good luck on the other two??

Here is Chapter 17.
I recorded this before I saw the comments about my popping "p" sound. Sorry.
I also could not get through this without crying. I tried six times. Let me know of any corrections.
I have started the last chapter. Thank you for your patience. :)

Thank you. And I agree this is a book that makes me cringe often. Remember that it was written to heighten awareness about animal abuse and I do not think that anything was exaggerated. The cruelty was very real. You have my admiration for getting through it. Take your time.

Chapter 17 PL OK. (note, no need to do anything, but the ending silence is supposed to be 5 seconds)

This was a very sad and horrible chapter. Sorry you had to go through it but you did it well.

Should 18 come open, I'd be interested in reading it.
