Wanted- A Pedigree by Martha Finley (1828 - 1909).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here: https://librivox.org/wanted-a-pedigree-by-martha-finley/
Nina Clemmens was adopted as a baby. When her parents die she goes to live with her religious aunt, who mistreats her because of her temper and her origin. Eventually she is driven to run away. Nina has been haunted by a women in black for her whole life. She meets Dr Montieth who's wife died in childbirth under mysterious circumstances. Will Nina be safe with him? Will she come to know the God both her aunt and Dr. Monteith claim to serve? Will she ever be accepted despite her lack of pedigree? When a young man carelessly insults her, she vows revenge. But it is not a simple as she thought. Will she be reconciled to the one she loves? Will the mystery of the woman in black be solved? ( Bria Snow)
  1. Text source (only read from this text!): http://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/008402840
  2. Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard, with constructive criticism.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Dramatic Readings of Bible passages

Some reason I decided to try to write fiction. And it sucked me far away from LibriVox into the world of writing, editing and blogging.

The text is on Google books too. http://books.google.com.au/books/about/Wanted_a_Pedigree.html?id=XZ9AAAAAYAAJ&redir_esc=y
I thought that I had better give the other link as this one is no good unless you have a google account.

And you're ready to go.

Thanks for including the Hathi Trust link. We do prefer to have a link to the text OTHER than Google in the catalog. I think folks in the US can see Google books, even without an account, but they are often blocked for people outside the US.

We'll head on over to going solo and if a DPL doesn't find us there, we can post an advert after you get a few sections up.

Thank you. Do you want to post an advert for a DPL in the Listeners Wanted forum? Instructions are here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/ProofListening_Template

I had some extra time, so I PL'ed a bit :D

For section 1:
9:23 - repeat - 'She still held her embroidered handkerchief to her.. She still held her embroidered handkercheif etc'
23:30 - recording stops abruptly on page 23 with 'There was evient incredulity', before the chapter is over.

Everything else is good - great job!

Thank you.
Have you had much experience with proof listening? If you haven't that's okay of course. You might want to listen to one chapter before you decide you want to listen to me that much.
I won't be putting up more than 2 chapters a week and probably only one at the moment.

Roohi was in the database as a DPL, so looks like I don't need to give instructions on logging into the MW and such - but let me know if you have any trouble.

And I'll unstickie the advert in Listeners Wanted - that will make the post float down the page as newer topics are posted.
