This time, Maria, here is an example of "jumping ahead" of the numerical sequence of the questions in my recording (which is what I anticipated earlier when I broke some of the longer questions into parts in order to know the proper project "section" numbers ahead of time). 8-) Hopefully my calculations were good  - in order to avoiding needing to renumber everything in the end! We should be OK though! (I think!) Take courage! Fortitude! Martyrdom!

The two sections on fortitude are PL OK ~ I will get to martyrdom by Monday. :-)

If you do run into the need of renumbering sections in the future, just let me know, as the easiest way would be for me to go into my folder and change the file name. Since you are using the question number instead of the section number in your intro/outro, its not too big of a deal jumping around without being certain of an accurate file count!

Here is the third-to-last article regarding the cardinal virtue of "prudence" in its sequence:

Maria:
Regarding the header quote describing this project, as for the other projects in this series, I opt for the common descriptor paragraph plus a tagline to identify the specific content of the particular selection of questions from the Summa Theologica in question.

Therefore, concerning this project entitled "CARDINAL VIRTUES" in the Going solo forum, "11", this amounts to:

Quote:
The Summa Theologica (or the Summa Theologiae or simply the Summa, written 1265–1274) is the most famous work of Thomas Aquinas (c. 1225–1274) although it was never finished. It was intended as a manual for beginners and a compilation of all of the main theological teachings of that time. It summarizes the reasoning for almost all points of Christian theology in the West, which, before the Protestant Reformation, subsisted solely in the Roman Catholic Church. The Summa's topics follow a cycle: the existence of God, God's creation, Man, Man's purpose, Christ, the Sacraments, and back to God. (Summary adapted from the Wikipedia)

This selection of the Summa Theologica covers questions 47-170 of the Secunda Secundae ("Second-half of the Second Part"), comprising a Treatise on the Cardinal Virtues: Prudence (questions 47-56), Justice (questions 57-122), Fortitude (questions 123-140), and Temperance (questions 141-170) - each with their own subordinate moral virtues.

Question 55 is PL OK.

Question 56 at 10:08 you put the part of the disclaimer that only goes on the last section of the book. "End of Summa Theologica, etc........"

Yes, actually the "Treatise on the Cardinal Virtues" is composed of four treatises on each of the four cardinal virtues.

So the introduction of questions 47-56 has been "Treatise on the Cardinal Virtues - the virtue of prudence", of questions 57-122 "Treatise on the Cardinal Virtues - the virtue of justice", of questions 123-140 "Treatise on the Cardinal Virtues - the virtue of fortitude", and of questions 141-170 "Treatise on the Cardinal Virtues - the virtue of temperance".

I could eliminate the indication that the treatise of prudence is concluded if it is sufficient that listeners will hear that the treatise on justice has [begun] with the introduction to the following question, or simplify it to something like, "End of Question 56, the last question dealing with the cardinal virtue of prudence".

I understand how the disclaimer is meant to serve to indicate the final end of a reading project. However in a project that might total something like 75 hours - it seems to become irrelevant, or rather, perhaps useful to have "mile-markers" along [the] way...

That is just my way of thinking - a little bit like when I started to put the "silent time" at the end of the recordings on a gradient between 5s and 10s...

PS. Should I upload the revised version with exactly the same name?

(Since I wrote this message late at night when very tired, I have have now corrected a couple of words [those appearing in square brackets] which may have otherwise caused its sense to stumble... :?)
