COMPLETE [HIST/LAW] Magna Carta Commemoration Essays-RuthieG
Ah, that explains it, Ruth.
I was baffled that a message posted in the newbie thread just didn't appear,
and decided that a recent birthday must have affected my brain!

Ruth,
Here is the primarily English part of Section 3. I have not read the Latin Bull on pp. 43-45. There is a blank in the text for insertion of that bit.
I'm uploading this file in FLAC format, since I know you will need to do some work on it before it is finalized and ready for PL.

And if there are any other sections where you would like me to help out with the reading (provided there are no long Latin passages), just let me know.

I am going to take section 7.
Any one comfortable reading the Papal Bull [in Latin] in Section 3 so that we can finish up that section? Ruth has been away from LV for a while and I'm not sure she will have the time to read it for me. I can handle the occasional sentence in Latin, but not an entire letter.

I apologise to all for my prolonged absence. I shall indeed be able to record the Papal Bull, MaryAnn , and thank you so much for taking on Section 7.
I have uploaded sections 8, 9 and 10.

I have also laid claim to the final two sections. Fingers crossed that I don't do another disappearing act...

Thank you, Carol .
Yes, MaryAnn. I should have done that and will move us now.
As Patrick hasn't been around since October, I have removed his stumble in Section 6. I also had to compress a bit in order to amplify to the desired volume.

Thanks, Maria . That's nice.
I have recorded and inserted the Latin letter into Section 3. I confess I didn't understand all of it, and I have forgotten where the stress goes on some of the verbs (it's nigh on 45 years since I learned Latin), but I did my best: https://librivox.org/uploads/ruthieg/magnacartacommemoration_03_various_128kb.mp3
I have also uploaded the final part of Magna Carta and the Common Law (Section 11): https://librivox.org/uploads/ruthieg/magnacartacommemoration_11_various_128kb.mp3

Sec.8,9,10 are PL OK.
Disclaimer: I'm not really qualified to PL Latin and French, so I only listened to the sound quality, the content is Greek to me

Thank you, Karl. I don't expect anyone to be proficient in Medieval Latin and Old French. (I know I'm not, and my pronunciation of neither will please the purist.) I will give it another good listen over against the text before going to catalogue just to make sure that the words at least are accurate .

Hello Ruth,
Just to let you know I am now concentrating on completing section 2, and will post as soon as possible.
Like you, I'm sure my very rusty memory of Latin (which was my joint favourite subject with French) will grate on knowledgeable ears! Mine is a mix of Scholarly, Church, Italian and confusion!

Thanks, Karl!
Don't panic, Carol. We're still OK for time.

Ruth,
Much as I would like to read Section 7, there is just too much latin for me to manage it. So may I throw that back in the pot? Sorry to move us back to readers wanted . . . but I have come up wanting in the reading of this section.
