The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Dramatic Reading) by Mark Twain (1835 - 1910).
In order to escape his cruel father, and led by a thirst for adventure, Huck Finn sets off down the Mississippi River with Jim, an escaped slave. But trouble is never far behind them, and their adventures are only beginning when they meet up with two men who claim to be a duke and a king! And that’s before Jim gets captured by none other than Tom Sawyer’s aunt and uncle… who mistake Huck for Tom. The hilarious adventures and scrapes of Huck, Jim, Tom, and others are brought to life in this dramatic reading. (Summary by Rachel)

    1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    2. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (DPL only): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/76 All characters please read from the Google Docs linked in the Magic Window!
    5. Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.

If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

      A few notes regarding casting:
*Casting for this project is now Gender Neutral.
*Some very small parts have been pre-double-casted.
*Please feel free to claim as many roles as you like, provided they are not in the same chapter.
*If any of this is confusing, feel free to ask questions! :)

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

NOTE: LibriVox has a "no censorship" policy, so the "n" word (which appears frequently in the book) must be recorded as it is. ;)

Michele and I will take turns editing and PL'ing the finished chapters.
Michele will read the role of Huck Finn, who is also the narrator. My brother Willy2 will read the part of Tom Sawyer and I will read the part of Joanna. All other roles are open for claiming :)

Yay! :D

I do:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/16ybPtB0x6ALIod-i1eGOA4MBgcqQ_8A-NnXlKX5bcaQ/edit?usp=sharing
but it isn't completely final. The MW will be organized better :)

Well how about this: I would like just a small part. You can choose which.
Two caveats: I'd rather not say the n-word, and I'm bad at accents.
So, if you have a random townsperson or something who you don't mind having a yankee accent, I'd be glad to take it.

No rush. Take your time getting set up. :)

I'll find you a part once I have an MC and a MW so I can get things more organized. A google doc isn't nearly as good as a MW :)

I made Michele the co-BC for the project so that you both have access to the MW. :)

I could just be co-DPL couldn't I, and still have access to the MW.

Are you gender spasific and age spasific?
Want to read about happy people? Try the Subjection of Isabel Carnaby.
Like mysterys? Try A Coin of Edward VII and The Maid of Sker.
Want to read a delightful romance? How about mrs. Dymond?
Love Louisa May Alcotte? Moods is waiting for you.

Thanks so much for MC'ing, Barry! :D

Hi Michele! Thanks so much for being part of this project! :D Right now it helps to have me in as DPL because I'm PL'ing the parts and that way it shows on my reader page where I can keep track ;)
miss stav wrote:Are you gender spasific and age spasific?
Hi Stav! I'm asking for gender specific if the character appears in 2 chapters or more, or does not have a name*. I'm also having young boys read by women :)

Thanks so much everybody! I'll get this MW filled out!

*Edit: okay, that's totally wrong. I mean gender neutral if the character doesn't have a name

Whatever works for you, girlfriend. I just don't want to steal your thunder, but I am just now beginning to appreciate and use the reader page myself.

There is no spot to add a co-DPL, only the co-BC. Would be nice sometimes to have an extra DPL spot for the project.

Yes, I often BC projects where I PL other readers' files and someone else PL's mine, but on the last one that turned out to be a 50/50 split which only one could be credited for. No big deal, but I like to see credit given wherever credit is due. :)

I agree, it would be nice. Especially with dramatic readings, which have a whole team that can only be credited in the summary :)
I've filled in all the character names. Now for the text links, which I hate doing because I always mess them up
