Cain's Act 3 is PL OK  Thanks so much! I'll be recording Lucifer on Monday - should be very fun to put them together :)

Elizabby wrote:Here is Abel, both Acts 1 and 3. I've done my usual "man voice" processing on it, since I see you have a male Cain, but as always I've saved the original "female voice" versions if you would prefer those. I hope the volumes are OK - the stage directions say "faintly" at the end of Act 3 (as I'm dying) so I made those lines a bit softer.

Thanks, Elizabby! I think the "man voice" sounds great - and I think you're right that it does make sense to have a deeper voice since we have a male Cain. Everything is PL OK  and no worries about the volume - those lines are definitely supposed to be quieter, and I'll make sure that the whole thing sits at the correct overall volume when I put it all together!

There's a little playoff baseball game going on here in Baltimore which makes a little too much background noise for recording, so I thought I'd do a little useful work on Dramatic Works projects that seemed to be getting close to completion. Here is a cast list generated from the MW list of readers; might need some update if there are any changes in the finalization.

Narrator: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/4174">Availle</a><br>
Cain: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/8799">unreadpages</a><br>
Abel: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/6281">Elizabby</a><br>
Adam: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/7170">alanmapstone</a><br>
Eve: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/3157">TriciaG</a><br>
Adah: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/9001">Tortilla</a><br>
Zillah: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/6544">JoFriday21</a><br>
Lucifer: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/8923">abendlied</a><br>
Angel of the Lord: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/7679">LibbyG</a><br>
Edited by: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/8923">abendlied</a><br>

Thanks, Todd

I haven't been able to get in touch with abendlied for a long time. I'll see if I can get this project moving again...

ETA: This is abendlied's recording for Lucifer in Act 1: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/cain_lucifer_01.flac (it's pl status is: PL needed)
I'm posting it here for safe-keeping, in case it's needed - you never know! - , but I'll take it off the Magic Window to open up the role again, since I can't get in touch with abendlied...

Hi! This will be my first project. I'd like to take a swing at the Lucifer part (sections 1 and 2), if I could.

Please list me in indices, etc as Mike Cantrell. Thank you!

Mike

Great! Welcome to Librivox! I hope you'll enjoy this as your first project! I've signed you up. Your welcome email has lots of useful info; if you have any questions, please, ask :)
Remember to do the sound check (1 minute test) for those tech specs to get the recording setup correct.

It's exciting to have a Lucifer amongst us  :D

I uploaded a 1-minute test. Perhaps I was supposed to link to it here? I must have misunderstood. Bear with me!

Thanks, Mike! I've commented at your test thread. My comments might be brief, so please ask if there are questions. Are you experienced with Audacity and recording?

Thank you, Alan!
I think I'm hearing two tracks combined, maybe an error during export? Please check your file, and if it's so, a new export should hopefully solve it!

I'm not experienced, at least not much. I've fooled around with Audacity, Beatcraft, and Mixcraft, but never produced anything serious.

Here's Section 1:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/cain_lucifer_1.mp3 (15:17)
Did I title the file correctly? Am I understanding it right, that you or someone is going to splice the parts together, and that will be the "final file" referred to below?

Edit: Wait, are we doing .flac? Here's that way:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/cain_lucifer_1.flac (15:17)
AFTER recording
Save files as 128 kbps mp3
cain_[role]_[##].mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the act number.

Filename for final files: cain_#_byron_128kb.mp3, where # is the act number, e.g. cain_1_byron_128kb.mp3
