Odyseja by Homer (c. 8th cen - c. 8th cen). Translated by Lucjan Siemieński (1807 - 1877)

will follow shortly
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://wolnelektury.pl/katalog/lektura/homer-odyseja/
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thank you Anne, Piotrek. I was getting ready to start recording, however I am caught with flood forecasting duty (part of what I do at work) and guess what - it's raining and flooding in Alice. There will be another sleepless night :-( . My job is to monitor river gauges we have in the catchment and report to emergency services.
Soon...

Thank you Anne :D - when it comes to flooding Alice Springs' situation is unique as we have flash floods - the upper Todd catchment is small and can fill quickly - from that to flash flood in town can be as little as 20 minutes. For the rest of the country (as far as I am aware) flood monitoring is being done by Bureau of Meteorology - they issue the warnings etc. But they would not be able to act quickly enough for us.
Fires will come next - the soil is saturated and the grasses will grow in abundance - perfect fire fodder.
The rain is easing up now so all good.

I understand it is supposed to be standard PL? In that case PL OK

Also, I lol'ed at this bit:
„Że też to na karb niebian człowiek wszystko kładzie,

Co dozna złego; chociaż sam swoją głupotą,

Idąc wbrew Przeznaczeniu, ugrzęza w to błoto!

Piotrek, yes, I thought standard PL - the language is somewhat formal but not that archaic.
Yeah, the quote, there's only that much even Gods can do against human stupidity  ...

We have had a server problem viewtopic.php?f=12&t=62490
Any files and posts made in that time were lost. The MW shows the only files I have for this project - if any are missing you will need to reupload and post the links , If everything is fine could you just post so I can cross you off my list

All is well here, I should be getting back to that project, it's been forever. I moved the country in the meantime, but it is a feeble excuse :-(
