A Son of the Gods and A Horseman in the Sky by : Ambrose Bierce (1842 - 1914).

This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project: http://librivox.org/a-son-of-the-gods-and-a-horseman-in-the-sky-by-ambrose-bierce/
Two short stories from the American Civil War by Ambrose Bierce. The first story is about a brave soldier who follows orders and risks his life without question. The second is about a soldier who falls asleep on guard duty. A mistake punishable by death in Civil War times. ( Bill2147)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5661
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
    • "Chapter [number] of A Son of the Gods and A Horseman in the Sky by : Ambrose Bierce by Ambrose Bierce. This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain."
    • If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • Only if applicable, say:
      "[Chapter title]"
    END of recording:
    • At the end of the section, say:
      "End of [Chapter]"
    • If you wish, say:

"End of A Son of the Gods and A Horseman in the Sky by : Ambrose Bierce, by Ambrose Bierce. "

There should be 5 seconds silence at the end of the recording, or 10 seconds for files longer than 30 minutes.

This is only about 6100 words. I was not sure exactly what group it might be placed in. It is a complete book by itself. It has a preface and two sections. one for each story.

alright, you are all set up!

if you want, you can use the short story disclaimer for the two short stories.
"[Title of Work], by [Author Name]. - This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
so i would make it:
section 0: [introduction to a son of the gods and a horseman in the sky] by [ambrose bierce]. - this is a librivox recording...
section 1: [a son of the gods] by [ambrose bierce]. - this is a librivox recording...
section 2: [a horseman in the sky] by [ambrose bierce]. - this is ...

because there are no "chapters" as it were.

Also, would you please check to see is the file name is correct? Great reading! :D

I'll check on it later this afternoon. I realized I had made that mistake after I uploaded it. I was waiting to see if anything else needed to be changed. Thanks
