T. De Witt Talmage As I Knew Him by Thomas De Witt Talmage (1832 - 1902).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/t-de-witt-talmage-as-i-knew-him-by-thomas-de-witt-talmage/
The Autobiography of Thomas De Witt Talmage, he was one of the most prominent religious leaders in the United States during the mid 19th century. His sermons which have been put into writing are convicting, informative and well worth reading or listening to, just as his life is. Full of the spirit of God his life is a testiomony and encouragement even today, years after his death.

This book was written by himself and his wife, Eleanor McCutcheon Collier Talmage. The first 17 chapters written by Mr. Talmage and the last five were witten by his wife.( fiddlesticks)
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/15693
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Please take special note of what to say for the introduction as the first part of this book was written by Mr. Talmage, and the later part by his wife.

I'd love to contribute to this book.
So I guess a good place to begin would be SECTION 01
if you can sign me up for that.

Thanks.

David,
You may want to take a look at the intros and outros. This book doesn't really have "chapters", it has "milestones". So should I say "milestone" instead of "chapter"? Should I read the section number?

I was thinking:

• • "Section [number] of T. De Witt Talmage As I Knew Him. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
• If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
• For sections 0-28 please say:
"T. De Witt Talmage As I Knew Him, by Thomas De Witt Talmage. Milestone [number, part ##]"
For sections 29-37 please say
Say: "T. De Witt Talmage As I Knew Him, by Eleanor McCutcheon Collier Talmage Milestone [number, part ##]"

Okay, I'll admit that I put this on the back burner since every time I checked I was the only one with a claimed section. I know that's not the best way to prioritize things, but I had overextended myself, and that's the way it shook out. But, I do still have it in my queue and will move it up a bit. I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel and will get my commitments back to a reasonable level soon. I will not let my enthusiasm get ahead of me again. There will ALWAYS be good stuff to read, right? Thanks for checking.
